ParticipantStop falling for the distractions guys, the ballroom, helipad and Reflecting Pool (That PT doesn’t talk about anymore).
Looks like the Houthis, a ragged army of sandal wearing camel farmers are beating the tar off the Saudi army. The Saudi’s asked the US for help as they can no longer protect their tankers in the red Sea. Why do we always back the losers? Why do we always back the dictators that their own population doesn’t like? Billions of dollars in advanced weaponry from the US and the Saudi’s are getting run off.
Starting this war is one of the biggest blunders in modern American history. It’s nowhere near over. Trump is refusing to help the Saudi’s. Hundreds of thousands of Yemeni civilians are escaping the violence and making their way to Europe and America. The US has destabilized the region at Israel’s request and service. The blame for high gas/diesel prices is shifting to Ukraine’s bombing of Russia refineries.
Get ready fuckers it’s gonna get a lot worse.

ParticipantIt’s kind of a no-win choice imo at this point. If he gets major concessions from them and does end up jumping in against the Houthis, that’s maybe not a bad thing. They’d have to give the US the world though. MBS is desperate so who knows? And to be fair, if the Saudi’s had done even a decent not good job with their military, they should be able to handle this situation themselves. And what happened to the mid east alliance? The mecca pact is a farce. Knowing how important Yemen is geographically, and on their border no less. Of course, ground troops would really flip the mid terms. Maybe Trump should give them back the plane?
How we got here is the real problem. Not sure what the best option with the Saudis is now. The last thing we need is another radical fundamentalist Islamic regime taking over down the road. As bad as the current Saudis in charge are, there are probably worse. I mean, it’s the middle east after all. Good thing we have experienced top generals and admirals in place. Oh wait, nvm.
What I’d like to see is more light crude refinery capacity in the states, long term that is going to reduce dependence on foreign oil. If diesel really spikes in two weeks, as some people are saying, it’s going to do some real economic damage. Trumpenomics better figure something out, so far their decisions aren’t looking too rosey.

ParticipantAsking a country that is being invaded to fight back with one hand tied behind its back seems harsh. What concessions would Russia make in return?

ParticipantIt’s turning into a tricky situation and I don’t think the US counts on the leadership to navigate this problem. Too many incompetents and ex Fox News employees. Trump signaled that he doesn’t want to widen the war he foolishly started. The Houthis can only be emboldened by the hesitation and the Saudi’s cannot defend themselves. The whole Iran crisis was about getting control of their oil to squeeze China. If you think it was about a nuclear weapon, you are brain dead and no one can help you. Now the dumb move has put key interests in the region at risk. Shifting the blame to Ukraine for high gas/diesel prices only works in magatard fantasy land. No one else is buying it. Trump set the region on fire and the whole thing has backfired on him. Israel First is not the answer.
