And I purposefully stayed out.  Hope you’re right.  Go do the research on much hyped tech IPO’s and how they do the first year.  You might do well to sell now.

I like the stock.  Like the concept.  Like it more after reality sets in and the rats jump off the ship.

Maybe this one will be the exception.

I would correct it, but sometimes it is best to let idiocy stand on it’s own.

Speaking of which.  LRCX hit up to about $375 today before settling in at $370.

TQQQ is at $78.  Was what, 19 when you declared stocks dead?  Hahahaha  Oh but wait.  it hit $82-84 at one point, so yeah, it’s really WAY off now.  Got $6 million in one, and almost $8M in the other.  Way too much to be having in two stocks but every time I wanna sell them they just shoot up again.  Maybe I’ll buy your house.  Raze it and turn it into a dog park for my next pooch to crap in.

Yeah, I’m on the sidelines on this one for now. Like the company, like Elon’s relationship with the government and the contracts it gives him and will continue to give him. It’s up nicely again today Monday

That’s not what Space X is all about nor is it why it’s valued as it is.

The general public is all excited about rockets.  It’s not about that.

Elon in plain view is building a satellite network to rival and surpass Comcast, Verizon, ATT, T Mobile, etc.  And doing it under the guise of colonizing Mars.

Being a fool I got in at the 135 IPO price through Schwab. Nothing like paying 93X sales but did it anyway.

Put in a COTP 300 shares and ended up receiving only 14 before trading opened Friday. Two of my friends got their entire order filled at Fidelity. Schwab is a joke but 14 is better than nothing. Thankfully I do most of my trading with Vanguard it’s just they don’t do IPO’s.

How do you do that?  I have never bought an IPO before.  Do you have to contact them?  Do they send you an invite?

I have been reading and 90% of IPO’s in this sector decline to IPO price or below in the first year.    I decided to wait out the retail investors to see if things would shake out.  Would not be the first company I missed out on the IPO.  Amazon, Square, Google, Meta, Alibaba.  OK, pretty much all of them.  Meaning companies I was excited about.  I really have to see them perform for awhile, hit a lull, then I go in.  I often regret it because they often are way higher when I buy them.  But I do what I do and my returns are strong enough that I probably shouldn’t worry about stuff I miss out on.  I never thought I’d be worth this much, so I have to live with other people having their victories and missing out.

But tell me how you get in line for this stuff, I am curious.  There have been a few IPO’s I wanted to be a part of and a few coming up in the AI space.

At Schwab the window opened to purchase the Space X IPO over a week ago. I think it was open for three days and to access you would click the trade tab and look for IPO in the drop down menu. At that point you place your order under COTP ( conditional offer to purchase).

No guarantee your order will be filled partially or otherwise. After that window closed to purchase you had to go back and log into your account last Thursday to Affirm your order. Now it’s wait and see until the following morning just before Space X started trading in the secondary market to see how many shares you got. Like I posted my lot was only 14 @ 135.00.

Apparently Schwab was swamped with so many buy orders most people probably didn’t come close to what they wanted. Also you were supposed to have signed up for IPO alerts and they would have sent you an email when it was time to place your order.

Why didn’t you reply to the appropriate poster?

do you enjoy embarrassing yourself out here every day?  or  do you like to take time off between your self-flagellation?
