Slide or slip? With the winning run at second the fielders had to play shallow to have any chance of making a play at‎ the plate. Tough to track a ball hit  that deep from where the CF was positioned. A couple pitches before, SC should have caught that foul ball down the 3rd base line. They still got to the S.R. and one out away from Omaha.

They had a play along 1b same as 3b earlier.  It’s called home field advantage.  Playing in your own park helps.

how cute looking at grocery stick wonder why baseball players do stuff.  Playing is a lot harder than watching,  opportunity zone.  Chasing down a fly behind you full speed as the wall approaches is a lot harder than watching your teammates play hockey from your spot on the bench.
