Venezuelan Immigrant Surge Coming

Just like Afghanistan, Iraq, and every other military adventure we have ever engaged in.
Get ready, Venezuelans are not selling flowers, fruit or anything else on the freeway off ramps. They want government assistance. Did you know gasoline is practically free in Venezuela? Donation only. The government tried to charge for gasoline and the riots and violence made them roll back the price.
In Mexico they were given free food and actually rioted because they said the food was inadequate.

In 2024  on a trip to Chicago I saw Venezuelan families panhandling in the downtown area. I went to talk to one family and from what I could understand they said the US government wasn’t giving them enough to live on so they had to panhandle. I asked why they weren’t working and they said they had not been given work permits. Since when has a work permit stopped a Mexican from selling stuff on freeway off ramp?

This is a mistake. Our economy is doing so poorly the government had to put a halt to economic reports for months now. But we are ‘running”  Venezuela? Lmao.
This is a mistake and it’s going to cost us.

So now we are supposed to believe that you get into political discussions with panhandlers on the street while you are traveling?  What kind of Anthony Bourdain bullshit is this?    I have a feeling most will want to stay and be a part of building their nation back up to what it was before socialism destroyed everything.  Shouldn’t take long.  Another entry on the “why socialism never works” page on Wiki.

I don’t see it that way BB. Those Venezuelans you talked to would be happy to return to their home country if the situation changes for the better there, which I believe it will, but that will take time. One thing is for sure, they are not wanted here.
