Riley kept cooking brisket for the team, as you can plainly see.

Shoot, looked at several pics of him, yep Bruddah Pasadena, 6-4, 190 lbs.  I’ve seen HS kids at his weight and in 1 year get to 230 lbs.  Somehow GM Bowden & C. LR did not think he would grow and put in the lbs, so they cut him loose.  Good luck to the kid…  Cheers

One thought is.  That from the time you’re recruited to go to a school they tell you ok we are gonna get you up to x pounds.  If he’s 6’4 that’s a tall lb.  They may have even been thinking edge or de w him.

so that means they need him to be 235-270 for anything in those roles.

so let’s say he’s 180-190 in hs. Which at 6’4 for a muscled toned football player is skinny.  They’re gonna tell him we want to get you to 230.  They know he can’t play at 190.  So I’m the 1.5 to 2 years between the time he gets serious about USC or other schools and now.  He’s known he needs to put on weight.  And is probably trying

in that time he looks like this.  So USC is like ok well. How long we gotta wait?  2 more years?   No we aren’t going to have you here for 3 years before you can contribute. And you’ve shown very little progress.

what we don’t know is this. Did he not follow the diet.  Did he not show up to the weight room when he was supposed to?  Or maybe he did all that and still couldn’t put it on. And there we get to my purpose of post.   He probably refused to do steroids.  That’s a dirty little secret no one  talks about any more. And I doubt anyone in the program officially is telling kids to do them.  But it’s known.  Their personal trainers and coaches know.  And they’re expected to do whatever it takes to get the right number.  On the scale.  Bench press etc.  And that means do whatever they need to.  Steroids.  Programs can’t direct it or the regimen.  But they can probably make info available on how to cycle and beat tests.

they didn’t just go away.  Steroids.  Remember all the scandals in the 90s?  Nope. They just went underground because it became bad publicity.  And they changed formulas.  So I’m guessing he refused to go that route.  Good for him.  But the team doesn’t have the patience.  Having waited 1.5 to 2 years already w no results.  To wait a couple more.  We always talk about what a guy projects to.  Growth. Weight gain. Not everyone can or does
