Center 73 goes to block LBer who then backs off into coverage

leaves DL wide open

RB goes to block an edge to JMs right side

Wasn’t the OL supposed to be one of USC’s strengths coming into the year?

Yes ATL, yes it was.  OL is a strange beast though, the star talent doesn’t always jive with production.  Just look at an NFL game when they have the players on the screen in the beginning of the game, it’s surprising how many lineman come from places you would t expect.

II don’t think there’s a position group that benefits more from good coaching than OL. UCLA’s OL is made up mostly of jags, but as a unit they play pretty cohesively. That’s all on Chris Smith.

Especially when UCLA is rotating in 5 OL at a time like a hockey line change.
