USC’s Horizontal Screen Design

This ain’t good.

1) Ever see a RB goes sideways and backwards on a screen play?

2) How does this blocking look?

3) they ran more screens last night (maybe 3 or 4?)  then normal. And they worked. I was happy to see that. Very. this was just a poorly designed/executed one.

They executed a screen play very well, but those passes to a RB, or whomever, behind the line got blown up repeatedly. Yet they kept goiing with it. Defenders on the riight side of the O-line kept flying in unmolested, both on these plays and other pass plays, sacking our QB.
