You won’t be able to recognize me by the teddy bear, cuz I won’t be bringing it. But you’ll be able to recognize me by this hat.

Right on SC Gator, I was thinking about you when I posted this and wondering if you still deal with the inconveniences of going to games.  You’re only 82  so I figured you still go. I have been going to games since I  was a kid myself and will be going up until I die,  if God grants me the strength.

Even  after all these years of going to games I still get that WOW feeling when I enter the tunnel and the field starts becoming visible at the end of the tunnel. Then BAM the tunnel ,opens up and there is the beautiful Coliseum field and the Peristyle end with the arches.  I get the feeling of,  “Yeah Fight ON baby! ”

It is a lucky hat in a sense.  But I wear it for situations like this because no one else has one just like it, so it’s almost a name tag.  I bought it at the Bookstore on campus in the Spring of 2007 and by Fall they weren’t selling them any more.  I never saw another one in the stands.

And it’s Firenze/SC66 who’s “only 82,” not me.  He was a senior when I was a 17-year old freshman.

I don’t go to many games these days.  Covid and the stink of Helton really soured me on the experience.   My wife bailed in 2016, the year the Rams came to town and they instituted the clear bag rule.  Now, I have no desire to go to second-rate OOC games, or 7:30/8:00 kickoffs, or games on Friday.

Right on Gator. Great hat and great story, it is unique. I still go to a lot of games, home and away. Sorry about adding a few years to your age. At our age every year matters, lol. Let’s get a W against the Duckss and Buckeyes.
