KeymasterStupid moves. No contender is going to give him the starting job.
So his choices are to go to a mid level program and start next year, maybe even transfer again thereafter.
Or go back up at a top level team. Dante Moore had to sit a year. Most young guys who leave after one year do too. Look at the teams in the NC hunt. None are being led by first year starters. Meaning, no experience starting and first year at their school. Mendoza started at Cal. Beck at Georgia. The Ole Miss kid has been around. Oregon Moore sat and then started.
At USC he could sit and then be the starter for the #1 recruiting class entering it’s second year.
Meaning, USC he would know the system, have the job and be QB a major team with major chances. And shoot Maiava might even get hurt. And have a coach who has coached his type of player.
Yeah, kids are stupid these days.

ParticipantBrutal. When a program has no competition and coaches play daddy ball, great players bail. This kid will get a big time starting role. He’s a 5*. Bugs is a 3*. DEAD!

ParticipantFWIW JT Daniels and Malachi Nelson were 5 stars too.

ParticipantThere are exceptions but 50-65% of HS 5 star recruits get drafted. 25-33% of 4 stars. 5-6% of 3 stars get drafted. USC fans have no idea if Longstreet is better because Bugs was anointed.

ParticipantIs this what you consider insightful analysis? 😂🤦♂️
reread what I wrote and think about it. Greatness is always rare.

KeymasterHe will not be named the starter or a Top 10-15 team.
which means he will either waste the season as a starter or sit at a contender. Which is what usc already is. Stupid move

ParticipantIt’s strictly about money BB. Husan wants to grab a couple of mil, far more than SC would pay him. I have thought all along that Jonas Williams is SC’s future ever since his last day performance at the Elite 11 camp. He was the youngest QB at that camp, yet he had the best performance of all of them on the last day.

ParticipantXlent points GTrojan. Top players want to grab as much moola, school and team loyalty is out da door. Pure and simple, they are whoring their talents. Eh, was looking forward to Longstreet as our QB, Aloha young Bruddah. No Pilikia, Jonas Williams will step up and do well under C. LR. Yep, he’s our future hopefully for 2 yrs, in 2027 & 28 seasons… Cheers.

ParticipantAccording to his Dad, Kevin per the Times, Everyone is saying to Husan sit for another year, only need one good year. But there is no guarantee Riley is back next year, what if we struggle and a new staff comes in?
Then he has to learn a whole new system. He wants to play now and give himself his best shot. The kid wants to play.
It wasn’t even until late in the recruiting process that SC emerged as a serious option for Husan. He was a long time commit to A&M, while SC already had a QB committed in Julian Lewis. After courting both QB’s, SC pivoted to Longstreet and managed to flip him from the Aggies.
