Who am I missing? My top is BMW followed by the dependable Robert Woods. Lots of great choices. Can’t go wrong really.

eta I’m a bit surprised that NA had a ten-year NFL career. He wasn’t the biggest or the most consistent, but he outlasted most on this list.

Oregon’s been so historically putrid (“mid” as the kids call it) in that category that likely our best 2 or 3 WRs since 2000 are either on our team currently or have verbaled to Eugene….all below are 5-stars:

LAD – what position would you say Oregon has the most to be proud of historically? We know it’s not the uniforms :). Without following the program, I would say RB. You guys have had some stud collegiate backs over the last 1/4 century. Absolute beasts in college. Not talking about the NFL, talking about absolute studs in college. Where do you feel Oregon has the most to be proud of?

– Wide receivers

Most proud of historically for Oregon:

– Running backs (I agree with you!)

– Defensive backs

Maybe quarterbacks…not a lot of big names who went on to do great things in the NFL, but many worked exceptionally well in Oregon’s offense the past 25 years.

Bruddah 909, Very tuff to pick just one.  Maybe top 5?  Yeah, I can do top 5.   But, your list did not have Makai Lemon, Mike Pittman, Pat Turner, Ron Johnson, Damian Williams, Deontay Burnett.  These guys were A+ Wr’s.

Lemon a major oversight on my part. The rest imho are tier two, maybe Pittman tier one. No fault of theirs, just that the others were just so dang good. I liked Williams but didn’t he drop that crucial pass late against the dang Irish? Or am I getting it twisted, as the kids say? Against any other team I’d let it slide lol, but considering the competition have to hold it against him lol.

I remember when Ju Ju was in HS, Long Beach Poly he was R by USC and many other schools as DB/S.  I wanted him at Wr (he played both ways in HS).  To me he was a 4.5 star Wr and 4.0 DB.  When Sark took over as HC in 2014, he saw something in Ju Ju as a Wr and tried him out.  After 2 weeks, Ju Ju became one of our Wr and never looked back at DB.  Sark was a smart coach…  Cheers

PS.  Ju Ju is one of my all time favorite Trojan.  What a great FB player; he caught everything and a fierce blocker.  He had the Eye of the Tiger when he played on Saturdays…

JuJu playing through that fracture with a cast on in 2015 was nuts – maybe stupid but man what a warrior!

Yeah Bruddah 909, what a game by Ju Ju.  Dat was pure guts and heart.  It was against Zona.  Ju Ju had 7 receptions, 120 yds, 1 TD.  He kept getting hurt and would go out for minutes and came right back in.  Story, he kept telling C. Sark let me back in.  I will never forget dat performance.  The 2 TV announcers raved about his heart, courage.  He caught tight, covered passes.  Most players would take the night off, not Ju Ju.

I like receivers dat are physical and want to beat up DB’s.  These guys were freaken hard nose Wr’s:  BM Williams, Drake London, Ju Ju Smith, Armon St Brown, Marquis Lee, Keary Colbert, Robert Woods, Mike Pittman, Pat Turner & Makai Lemon.

I was not a fan of Dwayne Jarrett, he was soft.

I was a big fan of Deontay Burnett, dang dat kid would make so many tuff catches with DB’s all over him.  He made Sam Darnold look good on many pass plays.  Small guy, but tuff as nails, very strong hands.  Deontay is one of my most favorite Trojan.  Damian Williams was a sensational Wr for us, he was sure hands, fast, shifty and made DB’s look stupid…  Cheers

Pittman is being undervalued on this thread. Bigtime

ARSTB is being overrated IMO. He didn’t do much at USC.

Robert Woods had a better career than Marquise Lee.
lee had a higher peak but not near the consistent production.

Lemon had one great year. Kudos to him but he’s not all time all time. An all time season, like Lee, but not all time production.

BMW, JuJu, Drake London, Woods are my top 4.
marquise Lee would be #5 by a nose over Pittman Jr.

Colbert, Jarrett, Turners later pro careers (or lack thereof) sort prove my list out. Of course, bmw is excluded lol. He just got fat at the 9-0 and ate/drank himself out of the league quickly.

My revised top Wr’s.  After reading Bruddah Pasadena’s post, he said some valid points, but not buying all he said.  Can’t agree on Makai Lemon, dat kid was a sensational Wr.  In fact, moved ML into #5 from #6.  Took out Pat Turner #9, replaced by Mike Pittman #9.  Moved up Woods to #6 from #7, Armon Brown from #5 to #7.  It was very tough Lemon or Woods for #5 position.  For me Marquis Lee is #1.

Like I said rating our Wr’s since 2000 was so hard.

you got me, pulling the all-time list out. It’s always a humbling experience to be reminded about how much I didn’t know lol.

woods is #1 in total receptions and 7th in yards gained and 2nd in TDs. Thats pretty compelling.

Marqise Lee being #1 in yards gained surprised me as he only played three years. like Amon Ra Saint Brown as well fwiw

another surprise was Jarratt being number one in touchdowns by a pretty larger margin. then again those USC teams were putting up huge point totals. and still room for bush and Lendale to get theirs too!

Tyler Vaughns was another surprise. if you would’ve told me, he had a better career than Deonte Burnett I would’ve called you crazy. just shows the difference between big games and big moments. DBs rose bowl is legendary

and where is Makai Lemon? lol But then again, how many of these guys were top 10 picks???  What a season he had and a talent he is.

Pre 2000.  My top 5.  Hard to pick the next top 5

1.  Lynn Swann.  Amazing athlete.  Shoot if he played in the C. PC, C. Kiffin, C. Sark or C. LR teams he would have been a Biletnikoff winner and college best Wr.  He played for John McKay run first type teams who hardly passed da ball. LS killed it in the NFL, All Pro.

2.  Key Johnson.  Dominate Wr, competitive dude, lead da team when they were down.

3.  Johnnie Morton, Great hands, very physical FB player.  A black belt Tae Kwon Do.

4.  Eric Affholter.  Great, sure hands, competitive dude.  Crazy route runner. Reminded me of Fred Biletnikoff.  AA + set all kinds of USC Wr records.

5.  RJ Soward.  What an electric Wr, elite speed and cutting ability, great vision.  Awesome on PR and KO.

Edesel Garrison, who led USC in receptions in 1971 and was a member of two NCAA championship relay teams, has passed away. He was 75.

Garrison was a memorable two-sport athlete, running the fastest time in the world in the 440-yard dash in 1971 while also being good enough in football to be a fifth-round draft choice of the Houston Oilers in 1973.

He was a seven-time All-American in track and field at USC and is No. 2-all time in school history in the 440 (45.4 seconds).

Garrison led Centennial High School to state and Southern Section titles in 1968. He won the 100-yard dash, the 440 and anchored the winning relay team in the Southern Section championship.

He then went to the state championships and won the 440 and mile relay. Garrison and Centennial also won the Southern Section title in 1967.
