UCLA first ever #1 overall seed to lose

The Regional opener. That historical stat will probably hold up for a while and it’s not a good one.

And oddly the 2 seed also

lost.  So 1 and 2 play for survival.  Someone’s season ends way early.  no one  had that on their bingo card

I thought ucla did this last year or year before   Maybe that was Oregon State   Another small school  maybe st marys  upset a top seed but ultimately the favorite won through the elimination gauntlet
