Trojans win game 1 9-5

After being down 5-1.  Mason Edwards continues to pitch poorly and USC continues  to overcome his dragging performance.

grand slam turns it into a 6-5 game in the 5th.   Never looked back

 

Edwards only lasted 3.  Gave up 4.  Johnson again comes in and is the hero.  Johnson threw only 32 and probably could throw Sunday too.  Edwards 77 might be able to go Sunday but gosh as poorly as he’s thrown this post season. Not sure they want to. Not sure if he’s gassed hurt or just off for a couple games.

NC has a huge problem as Grant Govel is on the mound tomorrow and you can get past a trams ace but USC isn’t likely to have both aces bomb back to back

He missed by inches and some were def strikes that he got squeezed on. UNC didn’t Chase either. Mason kept battling and kept it “close”. Dudes with his movement can start just missing by a hair.

Ump was not great but consistent with his low strikes, belt high balls and wide strikes. One of the crazier games I’ve seen called.

I’ve had so many heartbreaks while watching usc Baseball last few years that I feel like a jinx.

and yes turned it off in 4th inning. My jinx theory was right lol. I did Check  in for a second a few times rest of game

don’t think I’ll be watching today 😂🙏
