Alabama vs Auburn is known as The Iron Bowl.  Pitt vs West Virginia is called the Backyard Brawl.  Ohio State vs Michigan is called The Game (same as Stanford-Cal).  Why doesn’t the USC-Notre Dame rivalry have a moniker?

It always amazed me the long stretches of dominance of one school over the other for a period of time.
1970-1982  USC 11 Notre Dame 2
1983-1995  Notre Dame 12 USC 0 Ties 1

2002-2009 USC 8 Notre Dame 0
2017-2025  Notre Dame 7 USC 1

2002-2009, What a great run! Enjoyed it thoroughly. Nothing like a victory over the Irish, nothing like a pilgrimage to South Bend. My interactions with Notre Dame fans in South Bend have always been underlined by mutual respect. ND  Douches show up at the Coliseum. That game is where the saying “Big man Vs Big man” was born. Definition of Big Boy Football.
