Sam joined two teams who needed a mid priced quarterback to not make mistakes. With Minnesota he wasn’t able to be that guy Seattle followed the same formula. He had an OK season, but managed not to turn the ball over in the playoffs and so the rest of the team won them a Super Bowl

I’m happy for Darnold’s success, but I think this is more of an indictment of how overrated Aikman was. And he was.

I think this year is the Ram’s, Garrett is huge and if Donald is 75% of what he was in his peak – look out! AFC to me is wide open, but probably the Broncos. And I say that as a Chiefs fan who knows the tackles are suspect, LT for injuries and the RT for abilities. Maybe the Bills, I have a lot of respect for Josh Allen.

I guess Aikman was overrated, after all it really isn’t much of a bio. Oh yea and Sam can pass him with just 3 more SB wins too.

He was great in college, just think his nfl career was made by handing off to Emmitt and camping behind that all world O line. His TD to INT rate wasn’t exactly great. If you look at his PB years, I think some arguments could be made for Favre some years. I HATE the Cowgirls, so I admit I’m a tad biased here. Has nothing to do with him being a bruin. I’m not going to say he was bad or mediocre, just that imho he was fringe hof material. Look, I don’t think Swann deserved to get in. Or Jim Plunkett for winning two super bowls. Or Eli Manning for that matter. Or Bob Griese. Or the Snake. Just my opinion.

That is a interesting take 909 but I’m just curious, how can a guy suffer 10 concussions with the last 2 ending his career by just handing the ball off to a RB behind a massive all world O-line?
Seems to me that’s a player who wants to win at all cost giving up his body for the team. Winner.

Dunno, but you have to admit that O line was world class and was the main reason they won 3 super bowls. Aikman was a gamer; I will definitely give him that. And I gave him his flowers from college. I’m not saying he is a bum either.
