One of the best hitters I’ve ever seen. Lefty. Clutch. Never walked which was ok for the time.

a bit of a Freddie Freeman clone.

CA kid. 4th round draft choice

      2589 hits

      287 HRs

      522 doubles

4 walks (that’s a joke. But he was not a big take guy)

      had  a 10 RBI night

      HR derby champion

      .293 career average

      only 54!

Very sad, RIP. Unheralded very good career. Very steady, hit the Yankees well. Seemed like a great guy. Was a Dodger for a short time at the end of his career.

His biggest career moment was when he had the game winning three run double in game 7 of the WS in 2002. But I remember him most as a rookie when he carried a very good Angel team(that later collapsed) in the summer in 1995. He was awesome.
