Is that he is 28.  Now Friedman explained that “he has done the work, it is his turn” almost like it was Hillary’s “turn” to be president.  BS.  Baseball doesn’t work like that.  The truth is the Dodgers have  Jose De Paula to Sirota to Quintero; the Dodgers also have highly regarded outfield prospects James Tibbs III, Zyhir Hope, Charles Davalan and Kendall George working their way through the system.  They have 5 of the top 25 prospects in the game. And I think 7 of their OF, the guys above.  Rate as Top 100 prospects.

So again, why Wade?  Wade is 28.  That’s key.  He needs to play.  Now.  Somewhere.  Dodgers owe it to him and I think there are even rules on this.  Like Rule 5.  So he is basically a Minor League 265 hitter, 350-360 OBP, 30 HR and 15 steals.  All sounds great but the whiff rate and the not so stellar Minor league BA I think keep s him down.  As a prospect.  And his age.      The feeling is, this is all you’re going to get.  On the plus side, he’s a college guy, he’s left handed, and he has power.

Dodgers have 7 top OF prospects.  He’s not one.  They have room for 2 slots coming up.  Tucker won’t be there forever and Teoscar is OK, but his production is able to be replicated.  He’s not great defensively, no speed.  And about a 250 30 HR guy.  Getting older.  So he will be gone in a year or two.  LA has to find two superstars.  They are not looking fort MLB ready guys.  They are looking for superstar difference making OF.  Guys who can both hit and play D.  They found one in Any Pages.    Even better, he’s a CF.  So finding corner OF isn’t hard.  But means they need to be superlative offensively.  And young enough to be under team control and cheap for a few years.    That helps them weather though aging contracts of Freddie, Will, Mookie, Max, Tyler, Blake etc.

Wade is being brought up to show he’s MLB ready and to show he can help a team now.  Being brought up to showcase him and increase his value as a trade piece this deadline.  Dodgers have too many OF.  He’s too OLD.  And they would love to max his value and throw him into a trade for Skubal.  I am hearing Wrobleski and Wade for Skubal and I really hope not.  Sheehan maybe, though I like him too.  Not Wrobleski.

So anyway, don’t get attached to Wade.  Tibbs  DePaula and others are the future, not him.
