Keymasterhe’s absolutely wrong. He should run a business and then open his mouth
we have a water cooler called the horizons. It’s a great reverse osmosis unit. It used to be made in the US for $400 and now it’s being made in China for about $278. We have purchased it for years. We had about $75 of filtration to it and rent it for $40 a month
our supplier is getting rid of the horizons because they say in order to sell it they would need to sell it for $100 more than they do we said go for it. We would still buy it but they still shut it down
we are dealing with our bottles being more expensive because they are imported from Canada our Coolers from China or Korea.
our vehicles are made many places but freightliner assemble their stuff in Mexico
so even though we are a business that is domestic and local and labor and delivery oriented. We are still heavily impacted by these tariffs. The idea that they are not having an impact is ridiculous. Just remember. Businesses do not pay taxes. And businesses do not absorb costs. They’re part of the cost of doing business and ultimately the consumer pays for everything

ParticipantDo you have a locked-in agreement with that supplier? Seems like their dropping of a product in which you so greatly depend on would give you some flexibility to make a deal with someone else, unless the “Horizon Filter from China” has been completely banished in the States. I would think not as Horizon is a division of Parker North America, kind of a big company, to say the least.

KeymasterNo lock in but theirs is the most attractive combined w functionality and weight. Lightest. Big factor when installing. Crystal mountain has one and we will use it. Costs more and weighs a ton. Not our first choice but we will survive.
and no. The horizon cooler was from Aqua Bev and made there. It’s just a model in their line. Not sure if they are still selling bottled coolers or if they shut them down too. We moved away from their bottled coolers years ago.

ParticipantI went to my favorite Poke place last week, the owner said every one of their suppliers has raised prices due to tariffs. The price of my Poke lunch has gone from $12.99 to $17.99. The place was dead right at the lunch hour. Two customers. Thank God, the price of gas is $2.00 a gallon now, lmao.
The worst is yet to come but they’ll keep lying to us like we can’t read a receipt.
At least farmers are doing well.

ParticipantThat’s still cheaper than getting a combo meal of whatever nasty jalapeno maple nacho cheese burger Carls Jr. is slanging. Sorry to hear your Poke dollar has been so stretched, Ballss.

ParticipantLol. Took my boys to Carls a couple of weeks ago, $ 38 bucks for two meals. Ridiculous. Nasty ass burgers. Yeah man, almost $20 bucks for a carry out lunch? WTF. I thought prices were gonna come down. I was told.
