It’s interesting to note that of those coaches listed with national championships to their name, all became first-time head coaches at their respective schools (tOSU, Georgia, Clemson).
It took Ryan Day and Kirby Smart 6 seasons, and Dabo Swinney 9 seasons, to each win a national championship game after never being a head coach anywhere else.
Wonder if Lanning can earn a similar distinction….? Or will he end up never getting to that mountaintop like so many other head coaches?
