But just to remind us how much recruiting has changed the huge list of visitors this weekend only includes one uncommitted player, OT Isaiah Bertola. USC is hoping to get a commitment from him but just as important, get the committed players to shut down recruitment. WR Woodard decommitted and Hale will be offered some of Woodards money. Miami is pushing for Hale. Poyer wants to take visits, Cal is after him hard. Lang is being pressured by Oregon for a visit. Big weekend.

2028 is looking to be a huge and talented class. Especially with OL.

This USC class reminds me of oregons last year.  They didn’t need top talent.  They had a small class but the rich got richer.

usc had a huge class last year.  This is smaller.  So they need to focus on elite. Which is why I scoff at these 3 stars like vandermade.

This weekend, and weekends of June 5 and 19 are big recruiting weekends for UCLA as I imagine they are for all schools.

Bruddah Balls, do you have any inside info regarding Isaiah Bertola visit dis weekend?  Wondering if he gave USC a silent verbal/commitment?   Hope so…  Cheers

Ok, found out dat Bertola did not give USC a silent commitment.  He told our coaches and GM Bowden he will go on all of his 3 other OV, then make his decision right after.  Next up is Cal, 6-5-26, Texas 6-12 and BYU, 6-19.  So look out for his decision sometime after 6-19-26.   Bertola told Greg Biggins dat the USC visit went Great, coaches and players gave him lots of Aloha and Love.  But, dat’s what players all say when interviewed.

So, what does USC do, on Monday 6-1-26, GM Bowden makes 2 more late OL offers (plan B move).  1. Aldan Ray, 6-6, 300 lbs, 3*, Plano, Texas.  Kansas St, Houston, and N. Texas St are da leaders.  2. Thurman Lyles, 6-5, 260 lbs, 3*,  Grant Union HS, Sacramento, UCLA leads.  Normally, late offers are not successful.  Most of the time players will go with schools dat R them all season vs schools dat come in late in the game.  Hell no one likes being 2nd choice.

OK, dat’s da R scoop post 5-29 big OV weekend.

What’s up my Bruddah, no commitment from Bertola. He left saying USC is in his top 2 but right after he left USC made a couple of new offers to  lower ranked guys 2027 guys.Certainly not a good sign. BYU seems to lead.

Bruddah Balls, with GM Bowden if a player leaves on his OV not committing it’s kinda Pau, a finished deal.  GM Bowden must have made Bertola a strong, solid offer and he passed.  I’m sure he was warned about shopping around.  I strongly believe, we are not getting Bertola.  Good luck to da young Bruddah.

And, why even go on a plan B move, offering two 3* players?  Kinda stupid.  USC should save the remaining rides and wait for the TP in December and go for a QB, OL, LB…  Cheers

Bruddah Butkus, to play devils advocate, sometimes a recruit will wait a few days for the euphoria of the visit to
wear off, and if he’s still feeling it, he’ll commit and cancel his upcoming visits.

Bruddah AtlBruin, yeah dat happens sometimes.  But, Bertola told our coaches and GM Bowden, he wants to take the other 3 OV.  Dat alone kills for  GM Bowden, he’s a stubborn dude.  He disdains players shopping for the highest bid and dat’s what Bertola doing.  Yeah, we all wanted him.

The thing dat is perplexing are the 2 plan B offers on Monday, 6-1-16.  Why even think about wasting a ride for 3* HS players?  USC should wait & shop the TP in December.  There are 3-4 rides left.  Every year the TP is a good way securing da roster with solid, experienced players…  Cheers

PS.  The 2027 R process has revealed dat USC has a budget and GM Bowden are making offers according to his valuation of players.  He won’t go over his accessed NIL budget for anyone player.  All GM’s have a tuff job buying players.  I do not envy college GM’s.
