ParticipantHe went 6-4 in the Finals. 29 wins and 27 losses. Finals MVP twice.
lost in ‘74, ‘83, ‘84 and ‘89
Moses outplayed him in ‘83 h2h
won in ‘71, ‘80, ‘82, ‘85, ‘87 and ‘88
lost west finals in ‘72, ‘77 and ‘86
Hakeem outplayed him h2h in ‘86
Walton vs kareem in ‘77 was kind of a wash. Or slight edge to KAJ. same with old wilt in ‘71. The gap for KAJ over Walt was wider. But Walt had monster rebounds and assist numbers
not only was Jordan 6-0 in finals he was mvp all six times and he was never outplayed h2h.
the gap is actually much larger the you would think IMOhttps://www.sportsnostalgiahq.com/kareem-abdul-jabbar-finals-record/

ParticipantKaj’s legacy is greatly rewarded for college dominance and of course his long held scoring record and signature devastating Sky hook. It’s pretty funny how the only ones to block it were old school guys like Moses wilt and Walton. As he got older it got more devastating or bigs in league got weaker?

ParticipantI guess you can try and tear down the big man and his accomplishments, but no one comes close when looking at his combined high school, college and NBA record.
BTW Moses never blocked his shot however, nine guys can lay claim they did, Wilt multiple times and twice in Kareem’s rookie season, Hakeem, Nat Thurmond who Kareem said was the best center he ever played against, Walton only once from behind, Robert Parish, Ralph Sampson, Mark Eaton, Dr J and Bill Willoughby. He shot 28,307 skyhooks in his 20 year career.
Check also that he destroyed Bill Walton and that’s saying something.

ParticipantYou don’t have to be a fan to recognize Kareem’s dominance. He really was a beast. Moses was my favorite, but Kareem was a force. Walton was injured so we’ll never know how great he could have been. Hakeem was maybe the closest? Maybe. Shaq gets a lot of praise rightfully so, but I would take Moses or Kareem in their price over him, and Hakeem. So hard to judge and compare different generations. As for Michael. nobody comes close. the GOAT without argument.

ParticipantWalton’s teams beat him in Western conference finals and later the nba finals so he has that….
Hakeem is the best both ends of court center I’ve ever seen. Then Shaq assuming he wanted to try that night. His finals numbers were incredible. Unquestionably
then old Kareem. I never saw young KAJ.
his skyhook was a crazy weapon. Kept him in the league another 6/7 years I bet lol.Quite a run of great big men back then. Wilt Moses Nate KAJ and later Hakeem.
Not hating on KAJ. Hes in my top 5 all time. But 6-4 in finals is worthy of critique. Do high school and college really count?
especially for a guy a foot taller then everyone (HS)?and ucla won a bunch of chips without him too.

Participant10 NBA Final appearances going 6-4 opens the door for critique? Ok whatever. I don’t believe Walton beat him in the NBA Finals as the Lakers won vs the Celtics in 87
Im speaking only of Centers and my top two
1. Bill Russell 12 Finals won 11
2. Kareem 10 Finals won 6
All those Centers you named are great players no question but they don’t have the bio of the two I listed.
Hakeem 3 Finals won 2, Shaq 6 won 4, Moses 2 won 1, Thurmond 2 won 0, Wilt 6 won 2, Walton 3 won 2.

ParticipantYou are right. Walton (6th man of year that year) Celtics beat Houston in the finals who had beaten KAJ and the Lakers in the western conference finals. That Sampson bounce
6-4 is 60-40. Very critiqueable IMO while playing with magic and the big O.
HS + College + NBA career = untouchable
