Quite possibly one of the worst texts ever on the wild West was the obsession that Mookie Betts sucks. No player in baseball history has ever gone from being a gold glove outfielder to being an All-Star level Gold glove level middle in fielder. All while winning back to back world championships. I wonder whose nose Manny Machado is picking today?

Btw Mookie is hitting .260 in his Dodger post season career. Which is 40 points higher than his Boston days. Career .250 in the PS. Is that great? No WS MVPs either. In many chances btw.

It is unheard of for a guy with his experience to make this move and for him to be a plus level defender at this point in his career, much less one of the top short stops is unbelievable So to recap, Manny moved from shortstop to an easier position while Mookie moved from right field to shortstop the toughest position inside the lines
But of course you can’t see that by the way, Manny has a career on base average of 339 and Mookie has a career on base average of 369. Mookie OBA with the Dodgers each year has been .366, .367, .340, .408, .372, and 326, Only last year while he was playing Gold glove level shortstop Only that year was he ever below Manny‘s OBA Mookie’s career batting average is 290. manny is 279.
Mookie war Is higher than mayonnaise each of the last several years. Averaging 6.15 the last four years.
It’s pretty obvious who the better player is. It would be the one with three world championships with the Dodgers and one with the Red Sox. It would not be the one who has been a loser at the end of every season of his entire career.
I know you love knocking Mookie’s postseason career. But he batted 296 with an OBA of 378 when they won in 2020. He batted 290 with an OBA of 387 When they won in 2024. He was obviously a major contributor in both cases. He had four home runs in the postseason in 2024. 16 RBI since you think those are so important.
Want to know what Manny bat it last year while you were making fun of Mookie‘s .229 batting average? Post season? Manny batted .100 with an OB a of .250. Want to know what he batted before that? .179 with an OBA of .179. Previous to that .271 in 2022 because his team didn’t even make the playoffs in 2023. In 2020 Manny batted .154 in the playoffs with an OB a of .185. Pretty hilarious that you actually knock Mookie Betts postseason hitting and then try to claim that Manny Machado is a better player when his postseason performance has been absolutely treacherous

manny has about 300 more hits, 100 more HRs and about 200 more RBIs. Do those count? Or you more of a walk kind of guy? Your baseball coach tell you to lean into it like Coach Buttermaker did to Rudy Stein? Makes a lot of sense now that I think of it.
