Trent dilfer is a similar story. From Atwater.  His hs  team ran like single wing.  Which is funny to think of him running.  No one knew him or heard of him.  Fresno state got him.  Fresno didn’t even want Allen. Think he went to reedley jc for awhile.  Nothing in reedley

Good read Pasadena.  What was not mentioned, Allen worked out for Fresno St (40 mins) and literally told them F.St was his dream school.  Stupid coaches did not recognize his physical talents cause they did not make him an offer.  Allen said in an interview he was throwing 70 yds bomb, tight spirals, bullets on short and medium passes, nailed all his out throws.  Man, Fresno St coaches were dummies…  Cheers

PS.  When he was being drafted, saw his lengthy, HL tape from Wyoming (covered 2 yrs).  Heard of him, but never saw him play.  After seeing his tape, I said holy toledo amazing QB.  He was throwing 65 to 70 yd bombs with ease, making plays with his legs.  I was at WeAreSC board at dat time.  I posted his HL tape and raved about him.  98% of the board said, nah he won’t make it the NFL.  Many seen him play at Wyoming.  Reasons:  not accurate, low QB IQ, can’t read D, throws too hard, etc.  I replied are you guys for real, he will make the NFL and end up All Pro…

I had heard about him too, when he was at Wyoming
Saw him in a bowl game for about one quarter.  And he did not have a good game and his 50% completion percentage was rearing  its head And I too, wasn’t impressed.

 

Yeah, he sure proved me wrong. He’s the most physically gifted quarterback I’ve ever seen. Hope he gets a ring

explained his SR year didn’t go as well as JR year because he lost a bunch of WRers.

Also the low completion percentage was also because his dudes couldn’t catch his passes lol

Hmm dat’s strange Pasadena, I wrote all those things at WASC board.  I even went on defending Allen’s accuracy and lack of knowing D/s, arguing with good coaching he could improve on those things.  Also, I said his amazing athletic & physical skills are all God given.

Viewing his long HL tape, you could tell he was a very competitive QB; having Mojo and Moxie stuff I like in my QB.  When Allen ran, he did not head for the sidelines; he took on all defenders head on…  Cheers
