ParticipantDon’t know much about the new Northwestern head coach. Is he the real deal, or is he just riding Neuheisel’s coattails? )

ParticipantChicago..one of America’s great dining city.
“Chicago is a great steak city because of its deep roots in the nation’s meatpacking industry, its access to top-tier Midwest grain-fed beef, and a long-standing chophouse culture.”

ParticipantYep, have to make this trip. Not a huge fan of deep dish, but I heard great things of a spot near Wrigley. I remember it being deep dish, but actually looked different/delicious. I don’t remember the name of the joint, but I can get it. Haven’t talked to the guy in a couple of years.
Hate to miss this. Could happen as it will be my kid’s first year in college. We shall see

ParticipantNot a huge fan of deep dish either but we always end up there.. both Lou Malnatis and Giordanos. Take the river cruise. Sounds ghey but it’s really cool. You will appreciate the architecture of the city in a much more profound way.

ParticipantYep, been there several times. Hit both pizza places you mentioned. Like I said, not a huge fan. I’ll pass on the name of the new place when I get it. I definitely remember it being in the north end, so it should be fairly close to the NW campus

ParticipantWill do…. I’ll give this place a try next time I’m in Chicago. Deep dish kills me. No room for beers afterwards. Also tough to stay awake….. Next time you’re in NY, please do whatever you can to get to Luigi’s in Brooklyn. And if you don’t want to order a whole pie, they have hands down the best pizza by the slice I’ve ever had anywhere. Getting there from the city is a pain in the ass unless you’re staying in the financial district.
