“UCLA continued their hot start to their ’27 class with the commitment of Celifie. He’s one of the fastest players not just out West but in the county and recently set a personal best in the 100-meters with a 10.44 time in just his second race of the year.

He’s currently rated a four-star prospect and the No. 364 player nationally in the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.

He was set to take official visits to Cal, Kanas and Utah in addition to UCLA but has decided to shut it down and is now locked in with the Bruins.

“There are a lot of reasons why I chose UCLA,” Celifie said. “UCLA really has everything I was looking for in a school right here in my backyard. The message from the staff that I believed in was, ‘why leave home when everything I could want is right here.’

“I love the vibe and new energy at UCLA. I was at the Spring Game over the weekend and everything just feels right. I was originally planning to wait until June to commit after I took my visits but the more I thought about it, I realized UCLA was home and there was no need to drag it out.”

UCLA made a big move with Celifie back in January at the Bruins big Junior Day event. They quickly locked in an official visit and hosted him multiple times this Spring.

“The Junior Day is when I really connected with coach Chesney and started to learn what the program was going to be about,” Celifie said. “Coach (Colin) Lockett had just offered me a few days before and invited me up to campus and they showed me UCLA was ready to compete nationally.

“My comfort level there continued to grow. I was at their first Spring practice and been a few other times too and I love being around the coaches and support staff. Like I said, it felt feels like home for me.”

Dark money for the win!  I think this puts UClA at #3 class at this time.

Saw his HL tape, wow he is very fast.  HL’s showed a lot of long TD’s, out running people.  Kingston has elite speed, 10.44, 100 m, 21.2, 200 m.  Speed kills!  2 yrs P rec stats: 1,584 yds, 19 TD’s.  Rush stats: 270 yds, 3 TD’s.  He looks like a 3.5 stars Wr.  I like dis kid.  You guys scored and got one hell of a Wr.  Calabasas HS is a top D-5 FB program (5 yrs ago they were D-3).  A lot of solid players from Calabasas HS.

Crazy Rivals, UCLA with now 19 players and still at #12, so stupid.  247 rankings, UCLA moved up to #3 from #5 which is correct and right on…  Cheers

PS.  It would not surprise me during the season, Kingston gets 4 stars.

Is the 356 nationally rated player really a boom?

LMAO about stars & ratings. Joshua Kelley was a 2 star coming out of high school and was a walk on at UCLA . I don’t have to remind any of you what he pulled off unless you’re from another planet. He’s also still playing in the NFL

UCLA has been very fortunate with walk ons

look at Carson S and Greg Dulcich as well. That’s 3 All Americans in what 10 years. Thats impressive

State funded tax payer tuition keeps it much cheaper then private.

i say lucky because if you truly believed in a kid you would give him a scholie. I mean it’s not like you dont give out scholies to OTHER players every year

Bruddah RWC,  Dang, remember Josh Kelly well.  Kelly played FB at East Side HS, Lancaster, Ca (Golden League).  Heard about him as a Jr and got to see him play as a Sr, 2015.  Dat night, he rushed for 285 yds on 24 carries = 12 yds per & 4 TD’s (Wow).  I’ve seen all the greats RB’s in Antelope Valley, worked up here since we moved to Calif 1975.  After dat night I had put him in top 6.  When I saw he was not R much and had only 2 stars, I said BS.  In my eyes, Kelly was a 3.5 * RB all da way.

He goes to UC Davis, does pretty well and transfers to UCLA, kills it there.  Shoot he played his best vs USC; he killed us.  Not to blast the R services, they have a tuff job rating players.  Imagine there are on average, 1.04 million HS FB players playing HS FB every year.  So a lot of players will slip thru the cracks.

And, lazy coaches R and searching for talent going by the R services player rankings alone, will miss talent like Josh Kelly.  Looks to me UCLA has a HC and GM doing an amazing job R and searching for hidden talent.  Yeah, I like Wr Kingston Celifie a lot.  Heck being ranked at #364 player is not bad.  I’m betting after 2026 he moves up into the top 300 and earns 4 stars…  Cheers

I don’t know anything about this kid, so I’m not here to crap on him.

But are there really 364 (or more) 4-stars out there?

Good question, I thought four stars were top 250 players.  And we kaboomed another kid who was ranked in the 1.300’s.

      Stars ratings. 5 stars = 35-40 players.  4 stars, 36 to 300.  3 stars, 301 to 750.

      5 stars = Big Kaboom.  4 stars = Kaboom.  3 stars = Boom.

Kingston rated #364 = a Boom.  But, I rate him 3.5 stars, and if he has a great season, he will get 4 stars and get into the top 300 list.  Kingston has the speed & skills to earn 4 stars…

Here are FB stats.  There are on average, 1.04 million or 1,040,000 HS FB players.  Shoot, being ranked in top 750 is alright in my book.

        I personally rate players with a .50 to their stars.  4.5 stars = #36 to #100.  3.5 stars = #301 to #450…  Cheers

You have to report any recruiting success here…….because NOBODY READS THE UCLA 7/24 BOARD! UCLA is a great school. Beautiful girls…great “powder blue and gold unis…..but has such a “weak” self image when it comes to football. The 2 or 3 Bruin posters here step on themselves “self celebrating” every recruiting victory……BUT THE BRUINS NEVER WIN SH*T. I’m sorry…..I’m so really sorry.
