“UCLA football recruiting is on a tear.

It’s on a string of 2027 four-star commitments, and it just got another one from four-star Texas cornerback prospect Jerry Outhouse.

It’s even more significant when you figure in UCLA flipped Outhouse from his commitment to Georgia.

Yeah, right, as in the Georgia Bulldogs.

4-star CB Jerry Outhouse Jr. (Sam Spiegelman, Rivals)

The 6-0, 180-pounder from Forth Worth (Tex.) North Crowley committed to Georgia in early March, but he then unofficially visited UCLA last week. There were suddenly rumblings that UCLA looked like it was going to flip the talented prospect. A few days later he decommitted from Georgia and all indications were he was committing to UCLA.

The Bruins not only beat out Georgia, but Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, Texas Tech, SMU, Ole Miss, Baylor, Notre Dame, Florida, Tennessee and others had offered Outhouse.

He unofficially visited Oklahoma and SMU four times, and Georgia and Texas Tech twice.

It only took one unofficial visit to UCLA to do the trick.

He’ll officially visit UCLA May 15th. He does have official visits lined up with Georgia, Arizona State and Texas Tech, and we’ll see if he plans to go through with those trips.

Jeremy Johnson of the On3 Georgia site, DawgsHQ, said this about Outhouse: “He’s got good size, listed at 6-foot-1ish and 175 pounds. Outhouse seems bigger than that when watching his tape. The four-star plays through contact with passion. Some of the best plays are him making tackles. He’s a smart football player who understands the game and that gives him a jump. He seems to play with another gear than everyone on the field and doesn’t quit on plays.”

The Bruins’ reach has extended to Texas.

Bob Chesney and the UCLA staff flipped four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse Jr. away from Georgia.

Outhouse made his first visit to Westwood earlier this month, which changed his perspective of the program.

“The UCLA visit was great. Coach Chesney has a great staff with players who believe,” Outhouse told Rivals. “The coaches from Ches to (Gabe) Lynn and Whit (Eddie Whitley) … I think they could do something special.”

Outhouse committed to Georgia at the start of the spring.

The Rivals Industry Industry Ranking No. 15 CB out of Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley High School picked the Dawgs over Texas Tech.

Since declaring for Georgia, Outhouse logged visits back to Athens and also to UCLA.

He is slated to officially visit next month (May 15-17).

“The UCLA staff makes me feel like a big priority to them, especially when they can get me out there week after week, and going on the visit, seeing what they have going on shows me where I could play,” Outhouse detailed. “They have a lot of seniors right now, so spots will be open and ready to fill up.”

“I love the way coach Chesney is always fired up and how he brings the juice to every practice … no matter what day,” he continued. “I love the way he communicates with the other coaches. I see UCLA doing some big things this year with Coach Ches and this new staff.”

Bruddah AtlBruin, some ? for you.

      1.  Does HC Chesney allow committed players take other visits?  USC does not.

      2.  How many will be in your 2027 class, HS and TP?

      3.  At UCLA’s big official visit (59 players, wow) last week, was Marcus Fakatou there?  I think he has said he is interested in UCLA.  Fakatou has a top 10, UCLA, USC, Oregon, UGA, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio St, OU, Texas, Michigan.

Yes, Marcus F was there. Don’t know CBC’s stance on allowing committed players to visit other schools.

I googled this topic and AI came back saying HC B.Chesney allows his commits take their other O visits (giving them freedom, just like what C. Pete Carroll did).  I personally I like that open policy, it comes from strength and confidence of what he is building at UCLA.  It worked out for C.PC and USC.

Heck, I do not know the man but familiar with his successful FB records as HC at Assumption, Holy Cross and James Madison.  I think he is a winner and kids must like him a lot.  What he has done in his 1st year R for UCLA is truly amazing.  Man, you guys got one hell of a coach.

Shoot, freaken C.LR and USC had better notice dis guy and his staff.  UCLA is gonna be a force…  Cheers
