ParticipantUSC got a “huge” 2027 silent commitment this week. Announcement is coming soon. The identity of the player is being kept under wraps for now. But it will leak out soon.
USC hosted Pacifica (Oxnard) LB Isaiah Phelps this week, he has offers from pretty much all the big names. USC looks real good for a verbal with him. Offers from Ohio State, Texas, Michigan, Oregon, ND and many more have offered. Heavy USC lean at this point.
USC is pushing hard for Oregon lean and Mater Dei corner Danny Lang, he was on campus again this week with Chad Bowden showing his family around campus.
Top target and ND lean #7 player in the state DL Marcus Fakatou will be visiting this weekend too, he just announced that he will be transferring from Orange Lutheran to Sierra Canyon ( SC? Hmm) for his senior year. Spurning IMG who was pushing hard for him.

More later.

ParticipantI am currently negotiating for an increase in my NIL offer from USC. If I can get my counter approved I’ll commit. I’m a 6’2″ 200lbs cb with a 10.3 sec 3m time. That is exceptionally fast considering my age. Fight On!

KeymasterBoobie isn’t on campus yet? With all their room at WR to take a job this is a loss. Maybe him moving up a year makes that too hard.

ParticipantThe story on Isiah Phelps is that ASU leads for him but USC is coming on strong. He’s also planning a visit to UCLA.

ParticipantFor me speed is one of the keys for FB players. Hmm, Isiah Phelps, 5-11, 190 lbs, 3* Athlete (RB & LB), PR = 11.4 100 m (so 11.5 to 11.6), 23.8 200 m (so 24.0 avg). Nah, not good enough. Saw him play 2 times in 2 years, he looks OK at RB and alright at LB.
I’m really wondering why GM Bowden and staff going after him so hard with limited offers? Let ASU have him. I strongly feel USC should look around more, guaranty there are way more better LB’s out there to be had. I would really look down on Bowden if he continues to recruit Phelps, because he should be looking at the very very LB’s in da country and not an average, 3* player with average speed… Cheers
PS. These are way better LB’s and not committed yet. Bowden should go hard after these top LB’s: Kaden Henderson, 4*, 6-2, 220, Fl, Toa Satele, 4*, 6-3, 210, Hi, AJ Randle, 4*, 6-3, 215, NC, Roman Igwebuike, 4*, 6-3, 220, Il, Mikahi Allen, 4*, 6-1, 225, NJ.
