ParticipantIm a big Trout guy. Loved when he was the best player in baseball. Then the neck injury and he hasn’t been the same.
But with all the injuries no way is his career on par with Ken Griffey Jr. so far of course. But war says he is???
For context, KGJ has played 1,000 more games than Trout. Or 6+ seasons. Trouts just been to injured

troystoryParticipantThat is peculiar. Hard to explain that one. I think Griffey, by playing such a long time, must have accumulated a bunch of negative WAR later in his career. But agree with your point overall. This doesn’t make sense.

KeymasterNo but clearly it’s harder when you’re dealing with careers or different longevity.
Junior was unreal until he missed a few walls. His NL career was pretty forgettable by comparison

ParticipantSo WAR sucks when comparing different positions (SS vs 1B) and also doesn’t work for different career lengths?
so we’re back to TOTALS like before?-
