ParticipantCurrent R status with Dane Weber; he listed his top 8 schools and USC was not listed or mentioned. Weber said his favorite schools are UCLA and Cal; dat both schools are showing Mucho love and making him top priority. These 2 FB programs are the favorite to land Dane Weber.
DW does not mention USC and their R efforts. Man, we have one dumb MoFo HC in LR. Read dat C.LR is still evaluating Weber, what da phock! It’s boggles my mind, USC has not made an offer to DW. Wipe Out! I do not know why GM Bowden override C.LR slow play and just offer DW?

KeymasterSo let me get this straight.
when usc gets a player you want and like its all Bowden. Bowden is a genius
when usc passes on a player you like. It’s all clr. He’s an idiot.

ParticipantCorrect. Try to keep up. Btw it’s undeniable. Did you see 2025 and 2024 recruiting classes?

ParticipantBruddah Balls, what are you hearing in USC recruiting for a 2027 class QB? From my research, C.LR has only been looking at Dane Weber (looks like we’re out) and Caden Jones, 3* QB, Crean Lutheran HS, Irvine. Hell, maybe C.LR is gonna pass up with these 2 and wait for the TP in Dec, 2026. Dat’s a risky strategy in my book.
Without ? he is gonna need a top QB for the 2027 class. There’s only Jona’s Williams. I really do not like C.LR recruiting style. After Longstreet left last year, he should have been on attack mode (top priority) for top 2027 QB’s. All the top QB’s have committed. Maybe he is trying to flip one of them? Let us know what you’re hearing… Cheers

OK, just notice today QB Weber is 97% Cal, 3% UCLA. RWC, looks like UCLA either told him no way Jose to his high NIL demands or UCLA is going another direction (Brady Edmunds)? Puzzling, I would think Edmunds would cost more than Weber? Last week it was 42% UCLA and 38% Cal.
Cal has top offensive AC’s and OC. Weber is gonna thrive in Cal’s O. QB Coach, Nick Rolovich was retain from last season (which was a smart move by new HC Lupoi). Rolovich played QB under HC June Jones, Run & Shoot (Air Raid O) at Hawaii. C. Rolovich is an ideal coach for Dane Weber and will develop him into a top college QB… Cheers
PS. Of all the Air Raid O, I thought June Jones, Run & Shoot was the most prolific. The Run & Shoot was founded by C. Mouse Davis, Portland State.

ParticipantI think he got a bit too big for his britches, and was asking for a lot for a HS player who was not a “can’t miss” prospect. While UCLA has some serious nerd cash right now for NIL, it is not enough to throw around what this kid was asking for, when a known transfer would be the same price when they need one. He would fit with the offense though, where as the kid from Huntington not as much. Likely they will pivot to the coast and see what happens.

ParticipantFrom what I’ve seen (viewed his HL tapes) many times; dis kid is a top QB. He has all da Right Stuff and I predict will be one the best QB’s by his Jr season. I do not know what he and agent are asking, but I would pay up. I think he is better than Brady Edmunds (I prefer DT QB’s).
Real disappointed in USC slow play & no offer, boggles my mind… Cheers

ParticipantOK Bruddah AtlBruin not yet. From the looks of things, On3/Rivals says 97% Cal. A big turn around from last week where UCLA had a slight lead. I think with dis kid and his support team Cal’s big lead could change. Something tells me DW is all for the Mola-Dinero. It’s da Greed disease…Cheer.

Saw and heard a USC podcaster yestereday, 5-15-26. He has 4 theories for C.LR and GM Bowden very quiet, slow play in the QB R process.
1. They want to space a top, pricey QB’s every 2 years and plug in a cheap HS or TP QB for backup. Jonas Williams = 2026 class. Dat means, C.LR will go hard for the 2028 class.
2. They may be targeting a 2027, committed top HS QB for a Big Flip.
3. They may wait for the TP and get a QB in Dec 2026.
4. They may pass up 2027 altogether and go for a top QB for the 2028, following C.LR idea of spacing his top QB’s.
So looks like we won’t get 2027, Dane Weber (pricey & interferes with C.LR spacing plan). My big gripe is, why even R Weber in the 1st place? Kinda stupid, wasted time & energy for both parties…

KeymasterIf the option is 4 then one one is is going to have to suit up or Williams better play every snap and never get hurt or mad. Because he’s it for 2027

ParticipantNo joke Bruddah Java, Jonas had better not get hurt, cause the backups won’t do. Looking back, C.LR was in the same predicament, when C.Williams graduated and Miller Moss was the only top QB left to take over. C.LR scrambled like a mad man, shopping the TP. Failed with Howard (picked Ohio St, the South Dakota QB, picked Iowa). Finally, got Maiava from Las Vegas, only to lose him to UGA, but within 5 days, changed his mind coming back to USC. Sat would have terrible if Maiava had stayed at UGA; because Miller Moss regressed after 6 games and was replaced by Maiava.
Looks like C. LR is following his bad habits once again. Waiting for the TP is a risky strategy. Hell, he should have learned a big lesson with the failed TP attempts. What hurt USC was Longstreet leaving or we would be in a healthy situation with the QB room… Cheers
PS. Heck, Ohio St, LSU, Oregon, UGA, Bama, Notre Dame R a top QB every year and 4 deep with top QB’s. I believe QB is the most important position in FB.
