ParticipantQB Donald Tabron 6-3 180 visited USC for the third time and worked out for Huard and Riley. Tabron has over 30 offers but not one from USC. Problem is Tabron wants to commit before the season starts and it sounds like Riley isn’t ready to offer.
“Coach Riley said it, they probably have the slowest process of offering quarterbacks in the country,” said Tabron. “That’s neither good nor bad — each school has its own process.” Slow playing a five star top Qb? Interesting.
Tabron seems to want the offer badly.
“Like I said, being able to pick coach Huard and Riley’s minds about the quarterback position, offensive concepts, and fundamentals was great. Coach Riley talked about how he and coach [Sean] McVay of the Rams will sit around some days and have a deep dive on offense. Having a head coach who has those kinds of relationships is pretty amazing. Sean McVay, who is a great offensive mind as a head coach in the NFL, bringing bits and pieces of information to what you do is great.”Riley’s transfer QB’s: Baker, Murray, Hurts, Caleb, Maiava. Three won the Heisman.Hurts has a Super Bowl ring. Jayden led the B1G in passing last year.
Rileys HS QB’s Malachi Nelson, Dylan Raiola, Julian Lewis, Husan Longstreet
The strategy seems clear doesn’t it?

LA DuckParticipantBut did he even ask him the most important question of all…..
Vanilla or chocolate?
🙂
BTW, great point! Why pay exorbitant NIL fees for an unknown when you can buy a known commodity instead?
Welcome to 2026, mi amigo.
This strategy has worked pretty well for Oregon so far….lol

Participant2028 QB for C.LR and USC
According to one of USC’s top podcaster’s, C.LR has targeted these QB’s for 2028. The podcaster said C.LR want a type of QB = physical skills but most of all QB IQ = smart, able to read D, lead team, cool under pressure. When he evaluates a HS QB or TP QB, he wants the complete package. Who is gonna ? C.LR, he is a top QB guru.
Bruddah Balls, Caleb was C.LR direct HS R. Jonas Williams is another direct HS R and I believe C.LR will turn him into a Heisman finalist. So, C.LR has had success with HS QB talent as well as the experienced QB TP.
1. Don Tabron, 6-4, 195, Cass Tech HS, Detroit, Mich, 4*, 3 N, 3 player St
2. Josh Boyd, 6-4, 185, Vista Del Largo HS, Moreno Valley, Ca, 4*, 5 N, 4 St
3. Titus Huard, 6-5, 210, Valor Christian HS, Co, 4*, 9N, 2 St (Yep he comes from the famous QB Huard family from Washington).
4. Jayden Wade, 6-4, 200, IMG Academy, Fl, (from Los Angeles), 5*, 1 N, 3 St, UGA commit. A flip by C.LR?
5. Thaddeus Breaux, 6-5, 225, Hamilton HS, Los Angeles, (Soph-2029 class) no ratings yet, but the R service people say he will be the #1 QB N and #1 player Calif. The podcaster think he is C.LR main target and will most likely get him to re-classify to 2028. Dang no wonder C.LR did not go after Weber or Jones for 2027 class. All along he had dis kid as his top Dog QB after Jonas Williams. Oh, Breaux was born, family from Louisiana, but grew up in Calif; so I consider him a Cali kid… Shaka
PS. Looks like we are gonna get one of these guys as our QB for 2028 (Big Shaka). Heck, we should feel good about our QB situation… Cheers

ParticipantOne more thing, C.LR prefers dual threat QB’s. His 3 Heisman winners and 2 final 4 Heisman’s were DT QB’s. Strangely, he went all in for M. Nelson, 2024 class who is a Pro style QB? I do not know what he saw in Nelson, I had tabbed him as a 3.5* QB, No where close to a 5* QB.
Heck, 2027 DT QB’s, Ryder Lyons, Dane Weber, or Caden Jones would have been terrific QB2 after Jonas Williams (2026 class). Shoot, we had a top DT QB Husan Longstreet, 5* (2025 class) but he bailed for LSU. Dam, Longstreet would have a great QB.

ParticipantAlso, guaranty there are a good number of under da radar, low rated QB’s (0 to 3*) out there. Just like Mendoza, Darrin Mensah, Jayden Maiava, Joey Aguilar, Josh Hoover, Trinidad Chambliss, Paiva, John Mateer, Josh Allen, Joe Flacco, Carson Wentz, Tony Romo, Kurt Warner.
These HC’s were good searching hard, having a keen eye for low rated, but talented QB’s: Jeff Tedord, Kalen DeBoer, Curt Cignetti, Jeff Brohm, Kenny Dillingham, Lane Kiffin, June Jones, Sonny Dykes, Jeff Fisch, Neal Brown, Shane Beamer, Scott Sattefield, Jeff Leby, Dan Mullen. Kudos and hats off to these coaches… Cheers
