Kenny dillingham. Intriguing but he’s at ASU his Alma mater and it’s late in the cycle
Lincoln Riley. Probably not a fit for either side.
kalen de boer is not a good fit at bama. Go after him hard.
jedd fisch. Solid program builder. Who was talked about at UcLa but Michigan has way more resources.
the last two are both proven. Successful head coaches and if you can get either of them you do so.
Assuming none of the above transpires this could drag into mid January. Past the portal and Michigan risks losing half their roster. It will start with not having a coach and a couple guys leaving. Just a few. Normal coach turnover stuff. But as the job remains open and guys see their teammates bailing. Then the thing craters and they lose half their starting lineup.
not sure that promoting an assistant send a great message on the recruiting trail and might even perpetuate the whole harbaugh culture. They may want to start over. Which isn’t good timing for the calendar and also chasing Ohio state as they are now.
Michigan had one of the youngest rosters and youngest 2 deeps in the b10 last year and still went 9-3. So while that provides potential. It also leaves a lot of eligibility to sell and use for guys who want to portal their way to NIL riches.
