But plenty of volunteers willing to take the job. The “ I would rather live like a king for three years than be poor for a lifetime “ philosophy is alive and well. Chapos kids are the exception, they already had all the money they needed. Ego and power play a role too. 2 of Chapos kids are already in a US prison and two more will be dead or captured soon. The two in prison, Ovidio and Joaquin have already worked out plea bargain deal. They will do 5-7 years in federal prison then get this, they and their families get US residency and are set  free.
I get that plea bargains in exchange for cooperation are  standard and an evil necessity but we do too many. Ovidio was a major fentanyl distributor for years. Now he is going to get a sweetheart deal. Problematic in my opinion.
