He can’t touch elite pitchers. Sanchez had him looking like a single A call up. So did Miseroski.

But He annihilates mistakes and bad pitching. His 1st HR was 79 mph center cut. I’m no MLBer but I think they call that batting practice. The 2nd one was mid 80’s also in his very large wheelhouse. I’m not slamming that. Thats a BIG part of the game. Have to be able to do it to be a star.

but as far as great on great those match ups have Been disappointing and a mismatch.  Against Shohei. Fwiw

I have maintained when healthy he is a top 5 pitcher for years.  I said he was a top 5 baseball talent before he ever won his first MVP as an Angel. I posted about the golden age of LA baseball with him Trout Seager Kershaw and Mookie.

He’s for sure a top 5 pitcher and I’m not sure who’s better. skubal skenes sanchez brewer’s misaroski(sp?) snell. Not many. If any. Shohei is abs filthy and yes he prob will blow that elbow out one more and last time. His stuff is just too good and that seems to be the driver on those things.

He sucked for 4 games against the Phillies. He sucked for 3 games against Milwaukee. To have the night he did and to go from least valuable series player to MVP. Damn. Hat tip.
as I said the pitches he hit were BP worthy. Tommy Edmans (or Teo) was the real O MVP. But he doesn’t drive tv ratings or ticket sales. Shohei does.
