The Bruins are stacking blue-chip commitments.
Bob Chesney and co. have added multiple highly-rated prospects over the last month and momentum is sky-high in May.
Four-star running back Jayshon Gibson is the latest to declare for the Bruins.
Gibson tripped out to Westwood last month, which vaulted UCLA into pole position with the Rivals300 prospect.
“What’s exciting me the most about my fit at UCLA is the coaches believing in me … that I can help turn the program around,” Gibson told Rivals. “I love the offense and the opportunities there.”
Texas Tech and Arizona State have each had traction with the North Richland Hills (Texas) back, who amassed more than 2,200 yards rushing as a junior last fall, to go along with 44 touchdowns and a 9.7 YPC average.
The nation’s No. 20 RB is ecstatic about his fit with the Bruins.
“What opened my eyes was when they continued to show the same love from Day 1 — from phone calls, to me visiting by myself, to when my parents came with me,” Gibson continued. “The way they treat me and what they’ve told my family and me.”
“This is their first recruiting class,” he added. “I feel like UCLA is heading in a great direction! They built a relationship with me, which made them stand out. I knew it was where I wanted to be after getting down to see everything in person.”
