        Bruddah Balls, what caught my eye was LB/ST C.Ekler high praise of LB Stephens.  Hope the other LB’s improve mucho from last year too.  Plus, the DB’s.  DC Patterson has a lot of work and good coaching in the next few months.  Somehow if DC Patterson is able to get USC’s D in the top 12, I think we make the CFP and maybe come in 2nd in the B1G, ranked in the top 10 nation…  Cheers

        Oh, also YardBarker gives high praise to GM Bowden and his staff for the the last 2 years R Calif hard.  I agree 100% (no credit to C.LR who did not R Calif players).

        Good read Butkus.  They do have some nice stuff.

        Here’s a forgotten name who was supposed to be in the 2026 class

         

        RJ sermons.  While he may get buried behind the transfer Williams.  The I combat Williams. Marcellus.  And chasen Johnson?   I think RJ is going to find his way o to the field and with the talent USC has coming in they are goi g to be able to rotate corners and keep up with any passing game.   Corners have been a weakness for a few years but I think that’s going to change.   Easy to forget sermons and Stewart too are both supposed to be true freshmen this fall as part of the 2026 class

      Bruddah Java, YardBarker and Sports Illustrated do a very good job covering USC sports, they have good, knowledgeable writers.

      With regards to our DB’s, we had the talent (on paper) since C.LR has been here, but his DC’s, Grinch and DA Lynn just could not coach them up.  And, both DC’s specialized in the DB positions.  Man, our DB’s have looked really bad.

      3rd man up, DC Patterson is another coach that specialize with the 2ndary positions, I’m praying he will teach our DB’s how to play good, physical FB.  Most of all teach them how to tackle (dam).  All eyes will be on C. Patterson.

      PS.  I remember reading C. DA Lynn saying our DB’s were dumb.  He said that to a reporter and was clearly frustrated with his DB’s.  I was flabbergasted with what he said. DA Lynn did a heck of a job at UCLA with lessor DB talent.  So why was our 2ndary kept making big mistakes all season long + could not tackle?

        Third DC in five years is never a good look IMO. No one knows what really happened with Lynn leaving after just two seasons except the people inside. I know he can coach, and has a knack for making great halftime adjustments.

        Same thing over there at UCLA only worse with HC changes. Hard to win without continuity in the program.
