KeymasterI really assumed that they were going to run the ball and tell their running back if Illinois tried to allow them to score to take a knee at the 2 yard line. Scoring with two minutes left is way too much time. The USC defense is way too porous. all Illinois needs is a field goal and they’ve got all three time out. That was a massive mistake. I think USC just lost. That’s on Riley

KeymasterTold ya. Totally stupid clock management with 2 min left. Said it at the moment. No clue why they did that

Participant<p style=”text-align: left;”>Exactly, I thought the same. It’s pretty obvious yet Riley chose not to do that. Clock management is part of the fucking game. I don’t understand why he chooses to ignore it.</p>
Why leave it to the D when they haven’t shown up all game. Plus Illinois has a good kicker.Of course Riley will defend his decision.

KeymasterExactly. Good point about not stopping Illinois all game. So the way you win there is you know you need a touchdown? You’ve got 20 yards to go and you’ve got two minutes. You’ve also got three timeouts. So unless I’m mistaken, you run the ball and USC was running the ball for three or 4 yards every play so you run it three times and you run it again on fourth down and now you’re at the seven or eight and you keep running and you can probably run the clock to whatever you want. Hurry up slow down call time out do whatever and if I have four shots from the seven or 8 yard line, I like my chanceswhy pull the trigger on a 20 yard pass with two minutes left. I am flabbergasted
