Gold is funny to me, I have it, but I don’t like it.  Would never keep it in my home, so it can’t be taken (a safe doesn’t do shit other than have the crooks comeback later with a pro).  In actuality, it isn’t really safe to keep anywhere.  Paper, I guess, but that is not real.  Everyone always says when shit hits the fan gold will be king.  Will it?  What do you do with an ounce?  Do you shave off the dust and give a little pinch of it for stuff like they used to do in Wild West saloons?  Seems to me that if shit hits the fan, everything costs an ounce.  What are you going to do, get change?  Change/cash is worthless in that situation.

I have been wanting to buy a Costco gold bar just for kicks. They look cool. But yeah, what do you do with it? Most of us can’t just store it in our rectum. I don’t trust the services that claim they can store it for you, seen too many scams. I bought a fire proof safe a few years ago but it was to store important documents, some jewelry my wife has accumulated and a little bit of cash. The panic peddlers want to scare people into buying gold but hey whatever makes folks feel good. I use to have a safe deposit box at Home Savings, it was super cheap. I don’t know if banks even offer that service anymore.
