ParticipantFor Fraud: Maiava completed 72% of his passes ( in the rain!) and had zero turnovers.
That vaunted and experienced Iowa D line had zero hurries, only three TFL and two sacks ( one was actually an incomplete pass)
USC had 3/30 yards in penalties, the well coached team had 6/70
Iowa went 1/5 on third downs and 0/1 on 4th. Oh yeah.
Iowa only had 108 total yards in the 2nd half, 83 rushing, 25 passing. Adjustments ladies, adjustments.
USC scored in all 5 red zone trips, 2 field goals, and 3 touchdowns, but should have been 4 TDs if Lane wasn’t blatantly interfered with on that fade.
Time of Possession: The ball control team 30:44, USC 29:16 Suk It!
USC scored on its first three drives of the second half, and five in a row starting early in the 2nd half
Gronowski ran for 32 yards on 8 carries, but 19 of that came on one play.
As a team, Iowa ran for 183 but didn’t have a 100-yard rusher.
Despite the rain, Lemon had 10/153 and a touchdown, and Lane had 7/65. A dominant day for the receivers.
What’s up now?

KeymasterThe well coached team. The better coached team. The more disciplined team? Had a coach not warned. But actually flagged for 15 yards to seal the game and remove Iowas last chance to have the ball for 30-40 seconds in the game.
usually they give sideline warnings. Does this mean Iowa already had one? I never see an actual flag thrown.

ParticipantLol, the well coached, fundamentally solid team gets a flag to seal the game. How beautiful, made me smile. And the flag is on one of the adults. We still don’t know who the flag was on or why but it was so rich in irony I had to laugh when it happened. Those coaches thought they were gonna school Riley and walked away with a tough lesson. So good.

KeymasterApparently an assistant walked over some line. Onto the field. Coach loudmouth said in the press conference he’d seen it. I assume on TV and that the guy literally crossed the line.
I see guys do that all the time. I don’t get why this time it’s called. Now I’m going to guess maybe he did it during the play? Like maybe he got so excited he stepped on the field during a play?
I really would love to see that. Film. Commentary. Because I hear sideline warnings all the time and no one is ever flagged And then pow. The adults ruin the game for the kids. Good thing Iowa has such a superior coaching staff

KeymasterI found this online
An Iowa asst. ran onto the field and was yelling at the official. Another official flagged him for unsportsmanlike conduct. Don’t know for sure, but that asst. probably used some words that he shouldn’t have.
By rule, the only coach that can confer with the officials is the head coach. I saw him run right up to the official on the field. The foul iced the game for us.
By the way, the white hat official was a former Pac-12 official, I recognized him.
