Predictions below from before the season began.

Only one person got even 1 of the Final 4 correct.  (Hoping Taylor’s right about that one, too…lol!)

Out of the 20, only 7 of them named a team that even simply made the 12-team playoffs.

Will it be any different in August 2026?

College football has never been so unpredictable which I find overall is a good thing, but maybe not so much as to why it is so unpredictable (ie due to the current lawlessness of NIL and the portal) rather than for other reasons.

Yes, but of course it will never happen. Pre-season polls should be done away with too, but that won’t happen either. Polls shouldn’t start until after game 5, when teams have had two conference games.

That will severely shorten peacock season.

Only 7 out of 20 even MADE the playoff.  That’s awful work by them.

And out of the 20 experts?  Only 1 even picked one of the final 4.

Not a single one had Indiana, none had Ole Piss or Miami.

No keep it going.  It’s fun going back and see their picks.  College FB gotta have stuff to talk about.  I like pre-season prognostications…  Cheers

Problem is Butkus that what turnout to be really good teams get left off the top 25 polls while teams that are less than good get rated highly because of their name and tend to maintain being ranked in spite of multiple losses.  Climbing in the rankings are much more difficult for teams unranked when the season starts.
