RWC
Participant.Quick release
.Downfield accuracy reaches elite levels when his feet are set properly, dropping deep balls into tight windows with exceptional touch and trajectory control.
.Ball placement on intermediate crossers and digs demonstrates precision timing, particularly when attacking zone coverage seams between the linebacker and safety levels.
. Arm strength demonstrates impressive velocity on comeback routes and out – breaking concepts, driving throws thru tight coverage with zip and authority.
. Deliver accurate strikes while moving laterally, maintaining throwing mechanics with defenders closing.
Weaknesses:
. Short passing consistency remains a problem struggling with timing and accuracy on quick slants and bubble screens that require instantaneous ball delivery.
. Rushing ability grades poorly across the board, offering virtually zero designed run threat and limiting offensive coordinator creativity in short yardage situations.
. Frame and build raise legitimate durability concerns about absorbing punishment from NFL caliber edge rushers over a 17 game professional schedule.
. Decision making under heavy pressure occasionally forcing throws into coverage when progressions breakdown and escape routes disappear.
. Athletic limitations become apparent when forced to extend plays with his legs, lacking the burst to consistently scramble for meaningful yardage.

LA DuckParticipantGood stuff, RWC. I generally agree with this analysis based on what I’ve seen of Dante.
My guess is he will work on some of those weaknesses as much as possible, but he’ll never be a Randall Cunningham or a Lamar Jackson.
I always prefer a dual-threat QB over a statue, though. Even Justin Herbert isn’t anywhere nearly as poor as Dante in scrambling ability and toughness.

TEEParticipantLooks like Bo Nix emerging as the best of Duck QBs in the pros. Having mobility is huge.
Herbert had the best arm and decent mobility. But I’ll take Bo overall. And let’s face it. Herbert never won a playoff game in 5 years. Not a bust …but $50 mil/ yr ? Yeah. Ok
Mariota had a decent career. Best college QB by a mile over the other ducklings. too bad he wasn’t surrounded by elite talent other than a handful of players Imigine Mariota the past 3 years on these teams .
