Short week for USC while Northwestern had a bye week to prepare. Clearly they did some film study and came out punching the SC defense in the mouth in their first couple of drives. Their game plan attacked our vulnerabilities very well and it produced 14 points pretty darn quick. But then the Lynn adjustments came and they only had three points after that. Their Oline was physical and pretty darn good. There were two momentum changing plays, the fake punt and Maiava’s incredible play to negate a TD. Maiava is a very exciting player to watch. A fearless gunslinger wearing #14 again . Props to Riley for recognizing Maiava’s potential pushing eject on Moss.
How about #22 Conley coming in for Williams and holding his own. Lemon and Lane came up big.  But in my opinion the OL is pretty darn amazing. Consider they are missing the Portal guy that was ruled ineligible, injuries at Center, injured LT, RG and backup C and they are still performing way above expectations.
King Miller is unreal. He has vision and wiggle. What a job of evaluating by the coaches. Btw, Miller is DR Dre’s nephew ( Dre’s sister is the mom).

So here we are 7-2 and that last second loss to Illinois is haunting us. This years defense will never be great but with our offense, who knows. Three games left, gotta win ‘em all. 11-2 (bowl win), a young team, and the #1 recruiting class is a good spot to be in.

Iowa is going to be the toughest most unpredictable game of the season. They are better than  NW

and remember. NW on the road ended James Franklin’s career.  Same state Penn that’s knocking off #2 IU.

Iowa gonna be rough.  Home game helps

Oregon is zero chance.  And ucla should be a win

9-3 as I said on opening day  I said Illinois and Michigan were toss ups and we’d see a split of the two
