I remember back in the day that John Robinson was courting the rams. USC’s president, was it Zoomberg? got all pissed off and didn’t fire Robinson but demoted him to another gig in the Athletic department.
I am sure contracts are a lot more iron tight these days, but why not just move CLR to quarterback coach and get any competent high school coach to run the team?
The game isn’t that complicated but 162 can’t figure it out. It’s become embarrassing. Any 4th grader would have run the ball on the 16 yardline.
But one also has to see that Maiva has been coached up well beyond his first season.
I sure bet Ed Orgeron would take the gig and not give a shit about offense. He would probably do it for free. He may come off as a bafoon but he understands clock management. It’s not a complicated subject.
Now if we could also find someone that cared about special teams.
