Drake and Sam are two of the most talented, based and grounded DUDES who have ever played.  Clearly great parenting.

Sam never claiming victimhood. Always about improving and trying you’re best. Keep getting back up when they knock you down. Very Rocky-esque. No question.

Drake young and talented. Very openly religious. Family tree of very accomplished but humble athletes.  Wife is becoming social media famous for baking cookies and doing wife things for/with him. Knew each other since junior high.

Well done Mom Dad Grandma and Grandpa. Well done

obviously pulling for Sammy Darts but I’m a fan of both!!! ✌️

To be honest I have a harder time thinking of a Super Bowl that did not feature two great QB’s. When did it all start, some 59 years ago with Bart Starr, Lenny Dawson getting it all started. Should be a good game, and having Sam in there makes it more interesting.

I am more excited about Monday on this board than the game.  Either way it’s going to be epic.  Someone’s getting pregnant.

I’ve already won the so called “debate”. Surface level analysis of win/loss record and INTs is for idiots and those that listen to idiots. I provided context and nuance for years and it was ignored because “they” are “smarter”.  I remember explaining hugs record without Sam. The NYJ record without Sam being able to start (winless). Baker going 1-5 and Sam then going 4-2 on same team. I mean what can I say. Being stubborn and dumb is a tough go in life .

black knight bled out a long time ago.  Now he is relegated to telling his wife that Sam is a fraternity brother and has always saw his immense talent. he just was put into NFL purgatory with the Jets and Carolina Panthers. 99% sure this has already happened 😂🤦‍♂️

Still bitter over Denver basically having to mail in the championship game and the fg situation being a mess in a blizzard.

not excited at all about New England and Seattle.  Both thorns in Denver’s side over the years.  This should be Denver’s supper bowl.  Not new England’s 11th appearance.  Gross.   Can’t believe they’re back.

Seattle no real opinion.  I mean there were the Pete Carroll years and they made a few a decade ago.  Won one. And this is a rematch.  Hate rematches.

rooting for Sam because having a lambda chi from UsC winning the Super Bowl would be pretty cool.  Also a Capistrano beach kid.  I bet he goes to Olamendis too

the odd story is this is allegedly the swan song for the ownership of the sea slugs  weird story.  So Paul allen‘s Will stated that the Trailblazers and the sea slugs would be sold and the proceeds would benefit philanthropy. I don’t know what his causes are. Being a northwest techie I can only imagine. so he died in 2018 so you would expect they would have been sold by now, right? His sister is the trustee that runs the team

now the plot thickens the NFL has a rule that trusts can’t run teams. there has to be a majority owner of some sort. I don’t know how corporate they allow their ownership to be, but there has to be I guess one person they can identify as the general partner or managing general partner, even if there are many investors  I don’t quite understand why that cannot be Jody Allen and why a trust is any different than a bunch of investors, but I don’t make the rules of the NFL

so why haven’t they been sold you ask? After all Paul Allen has been dead for eight years.

this is where it gets more interesting. One of his last projects as an owner was to I guess get a new stadium built. I thought they still played in whatever stadium followed the kingdome. but perhaps the Mariners have their own stadium now and the Seahawks have theirs. I’m not sure where the soccer team plays. Maybe they have their own too  anyway Paul Allen signed a deal with Seattle that said if any time in the next 10 years, the Seahawks were sold the city of Seattle would get either $1 billion or 10% of the sale I forget which number. I think this was to protect their investment in the new stadium and he might have even known about his illness at that time so it might have been to protect them from the team being sold and moved after his death

so he dies four years after this agreement.  the NFL agrees to look the other way for a few years and the 10 years expired in either 2024 or maybe during the 2025 season   Now the nfl is putting pressure on her to sell.  they think the team will go for about $7 billion. Based on recent sales, I believe that the Redskins of Washington and the Denver Broncos might be the two most recent sales, and I thought that Washington sold for about 6 billion

so while this is certainly dragged on for the better part of a decade. The 10 year window has closed. The NFL has renewed interest in enforcing their rules and I am going to guess that the NFL feels if they are going to force a sale that for them and the other owners, this is very good timing because a team in the Super Bowl or better yet winning is going to be near or at their market peak   and every time that happens, the entire league becomes more valuable

so for me the story off the field is as interesting as the story on it.  I just have too many memories of the patriots and the Seahawks, embarrassing my Broncos. Of course, if I was bitter at everybody who ever embarrassed my Broncos, that would be an incredibly long line

Sorry, that post was so unnecessarily long I didn’t have the strength to scroll back up and see who wrote the dang thing.  Java’s Odyssey.
