Participant5* DL, Marcus Fakatou and USC recruiting. Although all the R sites have him leaning to ND, just read that Fakatou is all over da place. He has visited, ND, UGA, Texas, Oregon and USC; all of them are on his top list.
But, I just read dat our Poly players and commits: HF Johnson, Talanoa Ili, Tomu Topui, Isaia Vandermade are on him hard. HF Johnson (very good friends) and Talanoa Ili (former teammate) are recruiting MF very hard. Shoot, HF Johnson even saying he’s coming to USC (we’ve heard dat kine of stuff before). And, Johnson’s agent and manager is Big Dave U and he has a big pull with Poly boys.
Poly boys favor playing on a team full with other Poly boys. So I think USC is in a good place with Fakatou due to our Poly boys are good friends with him. I think Oregon is gonna be our big competitor for MF.
Our coaches and GM Bowden have made Fakatou a priority and I’m sure will out bid any school. M. Fakatou is the #2 ranked DL in da country. I’ve seen him play 3 times and he is the top 2 DL out of SS CIF last 20 years. I put him up there with Mason Graham (Servite HS, All State and AA Michigan).
We must get this young Bruddah… Cheers

ParticipantBruddah, Fakatou would be a great addition to this class. Word is he wants to go out of state to play college football. As you say, ND seems to be where he wants to play but he is getting his visits out of the way right now. Oregon is definitely in the mix too and Add Miami to the list of potential destinations. Basically all the bag schools and USC is handing out the biggest bags of all. In the NIL era I would not count USC out of this one. Plus I love his name Fakatou.
There is another guy we are after that I read is also very good and is being recruited by USC hard , Alifeleti Tuihalamaka, 6-4 260. I hope we can get both. Imagine pairing them with Wafle? Wow.

ParticipantYep Bruddah Balls, A. Tuihaimaka, DE/Edge, Oaks Christians is at the top of the USC’s big board. Also at the top of BB are Kasi Currie-DL, Sierra Canyon, Mekai Brown-Edge, Connecticut.
So a 2027 DL Class of Vandermade, Fakatou, Tuihaimaka, Brown or Currie would be an A+ class… Cheers

LA DuckParticipantI think it’s a 3-dog race between Oregon, tOSU and Georgia, with Oregon slightly in the lead right now for Fakatou.
But note the below is not really credible because we now all know the grass isn’t all that green in Eugene after all… 🙂
Per Adam Gorney:
Most recently, the Sierra Canyon standout said the Ducks had moved to No. 1 on his list after spending time with coach Dan Lanning and his staff as they drew up plans for how they’d utilize him plus the fact that Oregon is losing a massive amount of defensive line firepower after this season.

ParticipantBruddah LADuck, M. Fakatou is all over da place. Every time he visits a school he says they are top of his list and interest. I think he is strategically playing all da schools. He has a smart agent who will get schools into a bidding war. This kid is a top DL and will demand Mucho $1. All the GM’s will have to figure out his NIL value. In the end da school dat pays him the most $1 will land him… Cheers
PS. Although MF plays in da SS CIF, he is from Alaska. Oregon was his favorite FB program growing up. Over da years, most players do not end up at their dream school (too many other factors play into kids picking a school).

ParticipantEdit. I wrote I put Marcus Fakatou top 2 in last 20 years, along with Mason Graham. I forgot to add Tomu Topui as well. These 3 DL are the best in the last 20 years in the SS CIF… Cheers
