Keymaster1. Ohio State. Well Look at that. I guess having top talent matters some. Buckeyes won last year and were 12-0 this year until last night
2. Alabama-again-lost the NC game in either 2021 or 2022 and lost to Michigan in the semis in 2023
3. Georgia. Who then won the NC in 22 and 23.
4-5 were Clemson and LSU Clemson was a finalist I think in 2020 but hasn’t been there since and LSU was coming off their 2019 dream season but Oregeron pissed that all away.
6. Notre Dame, who handed this class to Freeman after Kelly left and he took this class to the playoff this year and NC game last year. Having top talent helps
7. Oregon-top 3 team the last 2 years, and Nice class to hand Lanning as he came in eh?
8. Michigan-who took talent and cheating and wont he NC in 2023
Apparently talent matters

KeymasterNow let’s see 2022
1. ATM-and those kids are Seniors or RD Juniors now. How did ATM do this year? This was regarded as one of the greatest recruiting classes of all time. ATM gambled that pay for play was the future and spent $$ before most others.
2. Bama-again, a perennial playoff team
3. Georgia, well looky looky I see a pattern. 2022 and 2023 Georgia wins the NC and 2024 and 2025 they win the SEC and are int he playoffs as a Top 3 team. looks like talent matters.
4. Ohio State-smirk. Need I say more?
5. Texas-who made the playoffs in 2024 and was ranked preseason #1 this year based on their talent
6. State Penn-that blew apart but in 2024 they were in the playoff semis and this year had the #2 class before the wheels fell off.
7. Notre Dame. Gosh I am seeing a pattern here. ND has two top classes and ND is in the NC game in 2024 and in the playoffs this year 3-4 years after these two back to back classes.
8. Oklahoma-apparently Riley could recruit, two back to back classes, and the Sooners have talent. And are in the playoffs this year. How Venebles screwed up all this talent the last few years is impressive.
9. Michigan-whoooooooo wins the NC in 2023 and is in the Semis in 2022
10. Clemson-go figure. With all this talent last year and this year no wonder Dabo talked so big. But the genius of South Carolina hasn’t put it together yet.Oregon finished just outside the top 10. Even with the transition to Lanning.
BTW, USC in 2021 ranking was 14 if I recall, and this year, 2022 (kids who are Seniors and RS Juniors now) was not in the Top 50. Why? Because the bed wetters got Helton fired and the class disappeared.
Fun side Note. Indiana before Cignetti had a top 25 class here. So their talent wasn’t 100% dogmeat when Cignetti came in.

Keymaster2023?
1. Alabama Shoot with this many classes int he top 3-5 in a row you’d figure Saban and Bama with DeBoer would do better. Still, they have talent to assure they can play with anyone as these rankings tell us. Maybe unfair. Bama lost the NC game in 2021. Lost the Semis to Georgia in 2022 And lost to Michigan in the semis in 2023 And are possibly back in in 2025
2. Georgia-dad gum. After two straight NC Georgia is up there again, one reason they continued to be in the playoffs each year.
3. Texas-see previous Texas comments
4. Ohio State-yawn, I guess it helps to have about 5 straight top 5 classes, huh? This would explain the last 2 years.
5. LSU-Well we know they had talent Probably still do based on this
6. OKlahoma-another solid class by OK. Add that to the talent Riley left and we have a 10-2 SEC team this year
7. Miami
8. USC Well looky here. Been awhile since we have seen this team here. Helps I suppose not to have fired a coach for the 4th time in 8-9 years mid season. This class is where the present OL came from.
9. Oregon-continues to have excellent classes, but about to get better.
10. Tennessee
11. Clemson-see previous Dabos jabs
12-ND again. First year under Freeman was rough but even still a 12 ranked class with the others in front of it is plenty good enough and we see them in the NC game last year and in the playoffs this year.

Keymaster2024
1. Georgia-see a pattern here? Oh Kirby Smart is the greatest coach in America. We need Kirby Smart. No you need like 5 classes in a row of Top 3 talent like Kirby has. Great players make Kirby a lot Smarter
2. Bama-well there we go again. See all previous stuff.
3. Oregon-told you. Their previous classes were 6-12 area and now in 2024 they turned it up a notch. Add in their portal guys and this team is as good as anyone the last 2 years. Apparently talent and recruiting matter.
4. Miami Again. Based on their classes they are probably underperforming during the year. Though they are 10-2 right now.
5. Ohio State-my gosh, I am so tired of this. This is how you end up with 67 4-5 stars by 2025
6. texas
7, LSU
8, Oklahoma. All 3 talented rosters and based on all that talent, probably underperformed a bit. But Texas was in the semis last year and #1 this year. OK is in it this year though they had several top classes that until this year haven’t done much.
9. ND-again sitting right there-solid class. Foundation for the run they are on.
10. Auburn-surprise
11-Clemson-slipping as the halo falls off Dabo.
Notice how Clemson’s rank is falling, how we don’t see Florida State collecting massive talent and how Michigan has slipped. No real Auburn. Credit to Lane, we don’t see Ole Miss and Goat Boy got them rolling in the portal.
USC this class was 17. Not gonna get that done. No wonder they brought in Bowden. This was when pay for play exploded and USC sat there and watched everyone buy the best HS players and only spent money on transfers. Fat slobs like Bear and others who had played elsewhere.

1. Texas I mean semis last year is awesome, and they parlayed that into the top class. Had some other good classes too but I think they expected better than 9-3 by now. But with all this talent I would think they will be back next year strong.
2. Georgia
3. Bama
4. Ohio State Honestly do I need to write anymore on these 3? You better get the idea by now. Top talent makes smart coaches. If anything De Boer should be demoted or fined for not having better seasons.
5. Oregon 4-5 years of consistent talent flow
6. Michigan Started spending and got Bryce Underwood
7. Florida surprise
8. Auburn surprise, but too little too late as the young kids here and last year could not save coach’s job. In many ways, Riley is facing this kind of heat now.
9. ATM Well big spenders are back. And with the great class in what, 2022? And this one, they have a playoff berth and were the toast of CFB for awhile this year.
10. LSU
ND was 12 and USC 13

Keymaster2026
1. USC
2. Alabama
3. Oregon
4. ND
5. Georgia
6. Ohio State
7 Tennessee
8. Texas
9. ATM
So what do you see in common? I would say that while TCU and Sonny Dykes, Indiana and Cignetti. ASU and Dillingham are great stories, they are not the norm. Want to build a great team? Get great talent and based on what I just wrote here? I would say at the moment that
Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State (these aren’t in order), Texas, ATM, Notre Dame, seems to be at the top of that ladder. With USC, Tennessee, Clemson, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma and maybe State Penn scrambling around the next level.
I would think if Bowden can put together another top 5 class and USC has two top 5 classes back to back along with a Top 8 class froma couple years ago, you’d presume to have enough talent on the roster to go compete with those other teams. But when you see how Ohio State, Oregon, Bama and Georgia collect 4-5 stars? Don’t be upset or shocked when a USC is behind Ohio State or Oregon in the standings.
