Interesting consideration of the final 4

Indiana has the best coach in America and has built with a theory I espoused for years and wondered if it could work.  They believe that a 24 year old 2 star who has played a lot of games is better than or equal to a 19 year old 5 star or 4 star. They don’t care if the older guy was in their system for 4-5 years.  They prefer he have experience and getting it elsewhere is fine.   Great defense and much of their coaching relies on finding what you do worst and then adapting their scheme to exploit that or make you do it

 

Miami. Dumb jock sounding coach but the best OL and DL line recruiting in America combined with a solid functional 7th year qb. Very traditional football team w no secrets that is gelling at the right time.   Losses to smu and Louisville sure didn’t predict this.    Again. Great defense and just overwhelming line play

 

ole miss. Top portal team in America.  Kiffin combined I dianas love for experience with oregons budget for talent. Throw in a mobile qb.  Worst defense of the 4 but opportunistic and a favorable schedule.  Playing Tulane and then an overrated bama team helped.  But performing this well with the kiffin chaos might be the best story of the playoffs.

oregon. Top to bottom the best roster of the bunch. Manning commits to defense and oregons might be the best in the country.  James Madison was a gift.  I actually think they were better last year but this team has held talent on the roster.  Has a motivating defense minded coach and a qb who is mobile enough to keep plays alive.  Hes not quite chambliss as a scrambler but is better in the pocket.  Moore is a top 2 draft pick

 

all 4 have good to great defenses.   All 4 have great lines.  And I would say 3 of the 4 have coaches who master the basic Boring beat your man in the trenches line play.  I don’t see any of the 4 as overly tricky or having an explosive weapon type player.

in a day and age of superstar players. And guys like Jeremiah smith or even explosive types like branch of Georgia.  I see these teams as remarkably devoid of these types of players and refreshingly strong in line play strong defense.  Quality special teams.

it’s also an indicator this is like March madness.  Little to do with quality of overall season and everything to do with how you’re playing right now in this 2-3 week period Like Ohio State last year, we stand a very good chance of having a two lost national champion. Which I think is totally gay
