KeymasterWith a shot at winning the national championship?
No need to invite bama or byu. They might be fine teams but clearly there are two teams that are several touchdowns better each.
So thanks but no thanks no need to invite those two .

ParticipantBama does not deserve to be in the CFP with 10-3 record. BYU out. Miami and Vandy should get into the CFP… Cheers

ParticipantThe goal of the championship games is to make money. I agree with your take but the reaults are not suppose to hurt teams. The whole thing is stupid.

DaystalkerParticipantThe goal is to make money on TV deals. No one wants to see the same teams play over and over again outside of their respective fan bases. It has to ebb and flow outside of the blue bloods, because those fans watch no matter what.

KeymasterWell if the purpose is not defined a national champion or teams worthy of it then we really need to call it. Something else
I am at least pretending that this is a college football playoff, and I am at least pretending that we are trying to find teams that have a legitimate shot of winning
the funny thing is that some years there are probably only two teens capable of winning other years. There might be five or six teams capable of winning the ridiculous thing is that people think there are 12 teams capable of winning. There never are

ParticipantI was mostly talking about the conference championship games. They are just exhibition games for TV $. The actual playoffs is less of a joke but not by much.

KeymasterYeah I actually think that they should get rid of the conference championship games. I’ve seen it or said it a few times but it’s obviously been pointed out that it’s TV. It’s a big money, etc.
I think that they should use the conference championship games as a play in for the playoffs and that would allow you to have a smaller number of teams in the playoffs.
you could have your conference championship game, which is obviously a big deal to get in the playoffs and at that point probably be able to put together five or six conference champions, somehow get to 8 and play the thing off
here’s a crazy idea. If the conferences are too big and you’re complaining that the teams don’t play each other? Split the conferences in half and have everybody on that play everybody else and you will see the champion of the other side in the championship game
