Hugs had Darnold and real talent across the board.
A good dozen NFl dudes. juju pittman at brown nwosu Porter gustin Rasheem green avt Austin Jackson adoree Grabby Slovis maybe a few more.

      Hugs Was in the Pac.

most importantly he was 5-7 in year 4 and didn’t have the no #1 recruiting class coming in.

CLR will get another year. Part of me is happy he gets to stay but truthfully hard to be optimistic with what we are seeing here. Loyalty is a good thing. Stubbornness  can be one’s downfall

CLR needs more talent.  No doubt.

Pasadena dis #1 2026 R class is due to GM Bowden and his R staff hard work & USC renewed NIL funding.  GM Bowden made Calif a priority and got many of Calif top players.  Unfortunately, he missed on many too.  In the future, he must put a complete fence in Calif, just like the C.PC era.

Sheet, C.LR did not believe in Calif talent (now dat’s was just stupid),  he was a lazy recruiter, did not work hard at R and it showed.  His year 1-3 his R class proved dat.  C.LR would go outside of Calif and at the end got shut out.  His 3 classes were average #14, #8, #17 ranked.  He had to shop the TP hard to shore up the roster.  His HS R = an above talent HS base.  Nah, dis #1 R class is due to GM Bowden and R staff and Not C.LR doing.

      C. Helton recruiting rankings:2015-2021 = #2, #9, #5, #4, #21, #49, #9

C.LR recruiting rankings: 2022 #46, not his fault, he took over Helton’s bad R year, he did well in the TP, 2023 to 2026: #9, #18, #15, #1

I strongly believe C.Kiffin, C.Dillingham, C.Fisch or C.Cignetti would put USC into the top 4 teams, go the CFP and win a NC.  I just do not believe C.LR has the right stuff to get USC into the promise land and win a NC.  All da millions USC is paying him has not paid off.  A so-so rate of investment…  Cheers

whats amazing is that the rah rah’s now deny that 162 was ever against local recruiting, even though he said it.  He said that it was a waste of time and that he was after bigger talent elsewhere.

Only problem is he didn’t get better talent elsewhere.

He sucks at everything except being a quarterback coach.  Just like sanka peaked and frying fast food chicken in fresneck.  He should go back to the only thing he is good at.  sc

I’m gonna talk out of both sides of my mouth here a bit. I think USC not recruiting locally is a mistake. It’s who we are. At same time SoCal collective dna is not making nfl caliber players at the same rate. This is opinion only not super well researched on my part.

Guys like Korey foreman, Justin Flowe, Domani Jackson, Bru McCoy, CJ Carr, Raleek Brown, Rosen, Malachi Nelson.

10/20 years ago the top top SoCal talent was typically a sure fire star. Carson, Deshaun, Darrell Russell, Chris Claiborne.

So I can understand CLRs concerns. But it does expose him if he can’t get the big out of state guys.

and transfer portal has changed game. No one sticks around anymore which does have both upsides/downsides.

So my complaint about CLR is he failed on both efforts. No local fence and no large one either. Especially HS level. He has done well with portal guys.
