Wow, a sea of red. Impressive showing by the Hoosiers. Duck fans were saving their pennies for the final. These trips get pricey.

The Duck fanbase is small compared to most.
and yes.  The cost to Miami for Tech game.  Then to Atlanta.  Then back to Miami if they won.
games at the RB and Fiesta Bowl would be a different story.   Then add in the cost for Xmas.

Another new problem. Most fans can only afford to go to one postseason game. Especially if it is a ‘been there, done that’. But for the amount of Indiana fans, this is unprecedented and cannot be missed.

        In all fairness….consider:

        U of Indiana-Bloomington has 43,500 enrollment,

Bloomington, Indiana is 516 miles and in the same EST time zone as Atlanta.

University of Oregon-Eugene has 22,298 enrollment

Eugene, Oregon is  2,615 miles and 3 time zones away from Atlanta.

The majority of fans that attend the bowl games are not students. And adding a couple of hours onto the travel time is not significant in the total amount of time spent at the postseason event. Duck fans went bonkers and sold their allotment for the Independence Bowl, in the late 80’s sometime, when they finally made a bowl game for the 1st time in decades. It was new to them.
