KeymasterThat is impressive. Only lost commit was Xavier Griffen and that was because Bowden was hired and told him he needed to decommit if he was going to keep taking trips. Same with the DB recently who went to Illinois. JC kid. Everyone kept saying this class would fall apart. I assumed they would lose 3-4 and hoped it would be 3 stars and not Hill or Bowman or Feaster or Pepe.
They have top level contribute early talent at OL with Pepe and the future BROCK COOLJAY (all the ladies dig it), at CB with Hill and Sermons (yeah, I still consider him part of this class), at DT with Winfield and DE with Waffle. Many think Bowman at TE though I will wait and see on that. WR with Mosley and Feaster.
They have top 3 stars. They have 22 guys who are Blue Chips, meaning 4-5 stars. They had some before Bowden but this class hit high gear with Chad.
Chris Henry has NOT SIGNED with Ohio State. All the other Mater Dei kids had their ceremony. With Hartline gone, Henry is listening to Oregon who wants to make him their 6th 5 star. Best top level class around. But Oregon lost Will Stein, THEIR OC. So for home cooking, development, consistency USC would seem to be a fair answer. USC already signed 5 WR so that may be a bit much. IMO you do whatever it takes to get Chris Henry. I think he is the best WR I have seen in HS in maybe ever.
Ryder Lyons also has not signed, but that doesn’t matter because he has two years to change his mind anyway.
But USC had no bad surprises and did have one good one in Dixon Wyatt The last time they got a #1 class was 2007, which is also the last time ANY team outside the SEC had a #1 recruiting class. SEC has now lost the last two NC’s and now has lot the recruiting wars. The last time USC had the #1 class it was soon gutted by the NCAA who turned most of those kids loose a year or two later as part of their witch hunt. Hopefully for USC int his new era of portability these kids stick around awhile.
As I have said, 11 of those 22 IMO are going to be major contributors or stars. And of the other 13, I think 4 will develop into starters contributors, stars. If true, that would be 15 guys from one class who are starters or stars. That’s a lot if they stick around.

Participant1) Bowman is still open. Crap
2) thought 2015 class was maybe #1 but no it was #2
Hopefully this class has as much success as that one. Hopefully more!
Biggie Darnold RoJo Porter Gustin Cam Smith Deontay Burnett were the stars.one all pro season between them but they won in college!
footnote: Ricky Town was the higher rated QB in the class. Java prob agreed 😉 Ricky pulled a Jason Thomas on that one. Smart kid fwiw
