Aw Bruddah LA Duck, did not know Russ passed away? Shoot, I saw him up close at Kailua HS FB games, track meets, basketball games, dang he was an imposing young Bruddah (6-5, 240 lbs and all, cut up muscles). We did not have steroids back then. His Dad was a big guy too, 6-5, 280 lbs. Must note most HS players back then weighed 140 lbs to 190 lbs. There were a few OL and DL at 225 to 250 lbs (Hawaiians and Samoans). He was a man among boys. At Kailua HS, Russ was an awesome DE, even when dbl teamed (All State).
I will never forget Russ Francis. Glad I got to see him play in FB and Track & Field… Cheers
